Anyone watch the Tyra Banks show yesterday?

The show was all about make-up. At one point she had one woman bring her make-up case from home and they had a specialist go thru her stuff and used pietrie dishes to see what was in & on her make-up. They then showed the audience what was seen with the microscope.OMG! (thought of you Margery when I watched )All kinds of squiggly yucky bad things. Every one of us has all kinds of gross things we are putting on our eyes, lips and skin.

Well after that show I am throwing out all my make up and thouroughly washing & disenfecting my eyelash curler, pencil sharpeners and brushes. I am also not hanging on to make-up with the thought that there's lots left I need to use up. Frugality to the wind on this one. BTW they also had a woman on who used super expensive make-up because she thought it was better. They did half her face in the expensive stuff & the other in drugstore make-up. She was asked to guess what side was her expensive brand. She picked wrong. So ladies buy the cheaper stuff and toss and clean often.

Oh, guess who woke up with a sty on her eye today? It's warm tea compresses & make-up tossing at this house today.

Oh Darlene -- you have my sympathy on the sty. Ouch!

Very good reminder to ditch stuff. Iknow I have a ton of makeup that I've been hanging onto even though Iknow about the expiration dates. Going to do some decluttering today!

Thanks for your kind thoughts, I woke up in the middle of the night and it felt like someone punched me in the eye. It's not too bad now, cought it early and the soaks & tylenol are helping.

Just hurts to blink.
Glad you are going to toss some stuff too. Just got done purging, tossing and cleaning my stuff.

I'm glad I didn't see it......I have gobs of older stuff that I need to chunk b/c I'll never use it anyway. Thanks for reminding me Darlene.

I am trying to wean myself off makeup a bit at a time.... I used to be the type that had to have on make up to go to the mailbox! I am getting better though and looking at some old pictures and my license I think I look a bit better without so much on.

I missed that one. I really wanted to watch it. I buy such cheap make up that I do toss it often. But last month I bought some fancy-schmancy make up from Macy's, (I figured I deserved a special treat

)what to me was the whole 9 yards. In the store it looked fine, 2 weeks later when I was going to use it, I looked like I had mud on my face. So I figure that I paid a bucket of money for *free* lip gloss. It's back to the cheap stuff for me.

Sorry to hear about your sty Darlene. They can be so painful
