Congrats!!!! I've never been pregnant before but I will tell you something I read and heard really works. (from Marilu Henner)
I read that morning sickness is caused by a drop in Calcium. If you take a calcium/magnesium supplement each day, it should help curb the sick feeling.
p.s. You must always take Calcium with Magnesium (2 to1 ratio) because magnesium helps your body absorb the calcium.
i.e. 1000 milligrams of Calcium/ 500 milligrams of Magnesium

My third pregnancy was the worst of all for sickness. Just tell yourself-I'm almost to my 2nd trimester! I felt great during the 2nd three months, that is until the heartburn reared its ugly head. Good luck. I don't know what else besides flat gingerale and saltines.

Try some gingerale, 7 Up, or Gatorade. Also nibbling dry toast, or some plain salty crackers might help. You have my sympathy, I had morning sickness for 4 months, I sure got tired of crackers and gingerale. And if you can stand it you might try some broth and crackers or just some plain broth, I liked beef but chicken would be good too, or even some chicken noodle soup. Hope you feel better soon
And I heard somewhere that morning sickness always means a healthy baby, guess it's an old wives' tale, anyway my dd has always been super healthy
Congrats!

I'm on my second pregnancy, and never had to experience MS. But during my first trimesters for both, is I would start to feel sick if I didn't eat anything, but as soon as I ate something (usually granola bars), the nausea would go away almost immediately. Nothing like trying to choke down food when you feel like puking,LOL!! It sure beat being sick though!
Anyways, I've always heard that if you get constant MS, that means you're having a girl (because of the surge of female hormones). But if you also had MS around the clock with your son- I guess that blows that theory out the window. I hope you start feeling better real soon, and so sorry you have to suffer through this! Hugs and belly rubs...

I heard if you physically vomit--it is a boy. If you just "feel" sick--it is a girl.

I was sick all day long for the first 4 months with my ds. What helped me the most was Emetrol (Ematrol? - not sure of the spelling - I actually took WalMart's store brand). It was on my list of physician approved mediciations and came highly suggested by not only my doctor but also friends. It worked!

Well I was VERY sick the first time around (I mean sick if I was awake).. and it was a girl but....
I had a cousin who was really sick and tried all the regular things you hear, gingerale, saltines and those things and they didn't work so tried acupunture (sp?) and it worked miracles for her....
I tried the Emetrol and it actually made me feel sicker so I just suffered through..
Hope you feel better soon!!!!!

I had morning sickness, afternoon sickness and evening sickness with my DS
this isn't an exaggeration, I actually lost 15lbs in my 1st trimester. Anyway, what worked great for me, and I know its gross, but drinking cold water. I know it doesn't sound like it worked but I just can't imagine how much worse it would have been if I hadn't been drinking all that water. My morning sickness lasted till I was 8 months pregnant.
Congrats!
