Hair falling out!
I knew it was going to happen, I was even prepared! BUT, when you look at your hair in your hand, it is a whole lot different than imagined! It has been falling out all day. Here is the question: should I shave the rest off, or let it fall out? What would you do?

Oh Julie, I know exactly what you are talking about.
Even though you know it is going to happen, when it does is a real shocker.
I have always worn my hair very short, think a boys crew cut. So when mine started falling out, I got out the clippers and had Jack go at it for me. It's a personal choice I think, but having hair fall in my food while I was eating, was a big turn off!
I'm sorry sweetie, the second round of chemo did it to me too.

I've had long hair forever!!!!! It is shoulder length now, I donated 13 inches of it three weeks ago. I wore a kerchief to work today, so hair wouldn't be flying around. The doctor that I work for actually was crying for me! Real tears and everything!

Oh honey...
I can't offer any advice, but I'll say a prayer for you right now and will keep you in my thoughts.

Hugs sweetie.
If it was me, I'd cut it extremely short to start out with and then if need be, then shave it.

My heart goes out to you. You are very brave. I think I would just go into hysterics if it were me. I can't say for sure what I would do, but I would probably go ahead and shave my head and wear a wig until it grew back out. May God Bless You!!!!

I'm really sorry, Julie. I know this is a really hard thing to go through.
I had a friend that went through this and she shaved her head and wore a wig when she went out. I think it's whatever you're most comfortable with.

Big hug Julie. You are working hard on zapping a monster & you are going to slay him. If it were me I'd shave it off in an act of defiance and bravery. Big big hug and whatever you do, please know your Village buds are thinking of you and cheering you on.

Ps, I love that doc you work for, what a sweetie.~*Darlene*~

That's a very brave thing to do, but I think it is brave to do the chemo. I had a friend go through this last year and she just wore a wig when she went out, but at home she had it off. She did have a problem with her skin on her head being itchy, so I gave her some of that udder cream and she said it helped a lot. Prayers going up for you.

I used to work with this awesome nurse who wore the coolest wigs while she was on chemo. She had fun with wearing different sassy wigs to work. She was one tough cookie, and so are you! I applaude your bravery to just go ahead and shave it off. That's awesome!

I remember when my Aunt with through her chemo. She did not shave hers off, but she did lose it all. She got some wigs, but could not stand to wear them. I thought she looked cute with no hair...although it was sad. We had a lady client in the beauty shop where I work that took chemo and lost her hair. When it grew back it was even more beautiful than before and she had curl when before her hair was straight.
Good luck to you, Julie.
