Birth Control
Can any one give me some advice.
I used to take the Noriday birth control pill which is a progestogen only pill. I haven't taken the pill for about 4 years, and when i went to get birth control last week the nurse gave me Cerazette which she said was like Noriday but new and improved.
You have to start taking the Cerazette on the first day of your period and so far i've had a couple of thumping headaches and worse cramps than usual. I am also feeling more tired and have heart burn with just about every thing i eat, my DH says he thinks i have taken a nose dive mood wise.
My question is how long should it take to all settle down? I have only ever taken Noriday before and had no problems how long before i know if these are just the intitial teething troubles or i need to change pills. The nurse gave me a 3 month supply.
Thanks.

I have no idea but I'd certainly be calling the nurse to ask.

Were side effects listed on the samples you were given? I think you are wise to stop. Call your health care provider asap.

Definitely call your nurse as soon as you can. She may want to change you to something else. It can take a while for your body to adjust. (Sometimes 2-3 months).

ravenmoonmother,
Please call right away, don't wait. My DSD had a hemoragic stroke at age 25 from birth control. If anyone ever doubted it could happen, please let me alert you that it is possible. She had headaches for a few months before the tragedy, she survived it, but not without a cost. Don't wait, get ont he phone and call.....please, it is that serious.

One time when I went on BC pills the doctor told me it can take up to three months to really get your system used to it. But, if I was having the side effects you're describing, I definitely wouldn't wait- I'd be calling right away.
