Oh yuck. Strep really stinks!! The year dh was in Korea, the kids & I passed it back & forth every 6 weeks until one of the doctors finally told us we should toss out all our toothbrushes after having strep.
So don't forget to change your toothbrush!
Sending some healing vibes

Angie,
Sorry you got strep throat. Yuck! It's bad enough when your kids are sick, but mom's aren't supposed to get sick...LOL Hope you're feeling better soon. And yes, the Z-Pak is great for kicking things out the door.

So sorry to hear your sick! Z-packs are magical, and I prescribe them alot for my patients. I also tell everyone with strep to do three other things. 1. Force down as much water as you can. 2. Do saltwater gargles 3-4 times a day. Make it as salty and warm as you can stand. Gargle then spit and do this over and over for about a minute. 3. For swelling and body aches take Ibuprofen/Motrin/Alleve/Tylenol, whichever you like and tolerate best. Also get lots of rest!! Hope you get well soon!

You're welcome Angie. I hope you're feeling better. The only time I had strep I ended up in the hospital with dehydration. I don't know how you do it with all the kids!

Hey Heather (Goodwin),
What do you prescribe for the folks that can't take the z-pak class of antibiotics. Or should I say the Eurythromycin types. Those make me sicker than the illness itself.
I had a staff infection in my throat one time. I was bad sick. The Dr. wouldn't let me go to school for a whole week even though I was feeling better. I don't think I have ever had strep, but was told staff is just as bad.
