    Default October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

    and I noticed in our local paper that the "city" has a radiological office that is running a special on mammograms. I called the nearest hospital to see if they were and they told me that the mam would be $90 (which is 10% off) but the dr.'s reading would be normal cost (I didn't ask, but I think it's about $85 if I remember right). So I called the office in the city that had the ad in the paper and it's going to be $99 for everything including the dr.'s reading. We are self employed and have a HUGE deductable so I signed up for that puppy. I think I'll do a mystery shop on the day I go in to have it done too and hit the thrift stores for fun (I might as well try to do something fun after having my boobs squished, right?).

    Don't forget to sign up for your mam and be sure to ask about specials. Lots of places are running them this month.

    October is also Domestic Violence Awareness month.
    “When you get to the end of all the light you know
    and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
    faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
    you will be given something solid to stand on,
    or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
    there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;
    bribery and corruption are common; children no
    longer obey their parents;
    every man wants to write a book and the
    end of the world is evidently approaching.”

    courage to change the things I can,

    Sis & I will be making our yearly appointment next week. We always go together and then spend the day together afterwards. Nice thing to go do with someone you love. Glab a loved one & go!
    Thanks for the post Lisa, it's a very important one. To the ladies who have never had one, they really don't hurt much. Just awkward and uncomfortable. Don't put it off just because of that, a little uncomfortablness could save your life.
