For all of us who love burning candles...
I started looking at this issue when I had to go on puffers for my lungs. I burn a lot of candles and was looking at the bits of smoke coming off and thinking... I wonder what's in that?
Here's a decent link that outlines candles, waxes, and what we breathe when we burn them. I was shocked!!!

That was an interesting link, thanks for sharing. My favorite candles happen to be soy, handmade at a local shop... guess that article gives me good reason to splurge on them more often, right?

One time when we had our refridgerator repaired, the repairman was telling us about a repair he'd done for a lady who lit a lot of candles. SHe kept having all this black stuff accumulating on the rug in front of her fridge, and they couldn't figure out why. Finally they realized that the soot from her candles was somehow being sucked into the fridge's fan and coming back out the front. I wondered then how much "junk" was in candle smoke... but of course I still burn them.

Honey, didn't you recently post something about walking to the store for "smokes" ?

Y'know...
I'm thinking that might have more to do with your problem than candles do.

But that's good information, thanks for sharing it.
