Default Good thoughts & vibes needed

Well it's back to the GYN today for me. A little background.... I went for my annual pap last March. It came back showing abnormal cells. I had a colposcopy and 2 biopsies done and ended up having cryosurgery in April. I went back in July for my 3 month follow up pap and it was still showing atypical cells. I'm going in today for my 6 month follow up pap and I'm hoping and praying that this time it comes back normal. While I'm there I'm going to ask my Dr to do an HPV test on me.

more good energy coming your way...& I want to say you are smart to ask for an HPV test. Last year at a woman's health fair I heard a doctor talk on the importance of testing for that.

I'm pretty sure I have HPV as this is my 2nd bout with cervical dysplasia. The first time was 20 years ago. Anyway.... I'd just like to know for sure and which types I have. I believe the high risk types are 16,18,31,33 & 45.

Well I'm back from the Dr. I should have my results in about 10 days. I also asked about getting an HPV test done and he told me there was no need..... I have it He showed me my file of the results of my biopsies and past paps and it showed up in them. *sigh*

    Hugs to you

I have hpv which causes cervical cancer. It is good that you are keeping up with your annual pap test. There is alot more awareness out there now on this which is great. If you have any questions I will try to answer them the best that I can, you are not alone It is a shock when you first hear this and I have no idea why dr.s do not tell their patients when they do have it.........I discovered that I had this while looking for more information about cervical cancer on the internet. You can imagine my shock especially since I was one stage away from cervical cancer almost 14 years ago and I was finally just discovering about hpv about 1 year ago.

My sons father had cheated on me with a girl I went to school with way back........she died about 3 years ago with cervical cancer.....also in saying this ,from what the dr.s had told me from before.........it takes years for cervical cancer to develope but I wouldn't take their word on that, our best bet is to get regualar pap test.
