Question Do you limit your childrens/childs pop consumption?

I was in a litlle corner store on Sunday morning and there was a mom in there preaching to her son about pop. He wanted a bottle of the new Pepsi Blue and she would'nt let him have it because it depletes the calcium supply in your bones. I am well aware of this, but do let my dd's have a pop on occasion She said that she is an RN in the local EM room and more and more children are coming in with fractures who should'nt have them, and this is due to the high consumption of sodas she said and lack of calcium

My son is only 19 months old, but he is not drinking any pop. When he's older he will be limited. I have already thought on this subject but your post just verified it.

    Thanks for the heads up!

I limit my kids to one 8oz cup every two or three days. They have unlimited water, 4 8oz cups of milk, and 2 8oz cups juice every day. It's been so hot, I've been really watching their fluid intake as dehydration is so easy to fall into. We don't keep soda around the house, and if I buy one, they have to share. I'm really not anal, just tired of paying dental bills

I try to limit her coke drinking but it's hard. I really only drink Dr. Pepper. Every so often I will drink something else but usually it's Dr. Pepper. She likes it as much as me. Once she starts school she won't drink as much.

I did limit my kids pop when they lived at home, but I still probably let them have too much. Now that they live on their own none of them drinks much of it.

Dh and I rarely have soda (only when on vacation or occasionally when we eat out) so there is never any in our house. We have let ds (age 3) try soda before and he always spits it out.

I don't set the best example for the kids, because I am a Pepsiholic. DD#1 only has soda once in a while, at Sunday dinner for instance. She much prefers strawberry milk

We don't have soda in the house, so dd doesn't drink it. She's a water drinker and a milkaholic. If we are out somewhere and milk or water isn't an option, I don't mind letting her have sips of soda. I find that when you make something absolutely off limits, it makes the kids want it more. If it's something they know they can have every now and then, it's not such a big deal. She never, EVER asks for it, but is nicely surprised when it's offered. Honestly, she'd rather drink milk.

Dss gets it when we go out to dinner and even then it is sugar and caffiene free. Soda and Ritalin are not a good mix. I stopped drinking soda in high school because my orthopedic sugeon gave me all that info on the calcium issues.
