any mothers out there have a autistic child?
hello moms- i just got a 3 year old autistic child yesterday. i have NEVER dealt with a autistic child before & all i can say i "WOW"!!! he is the busiest kid i have ever met in my life. if i let my eyes off of him, he's gone. he has tried escaping out the front door, i catch him upstairs where he isn't aloud. plus i have his 15mth old brother. i totally have my hands full!!! any advice for me would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!! thanks!!

I do not have an autistic child, but have been researching special diets for my own family and have come across the gluten-free casein-free diet. You might want to read the recipes and my story part of Special Diets for Special Kids or Karen Seroussi's book on autism (can't remember the title). The boy might be very susceptible to foods especially wheat or dairy. My friend's child (lower functioning, not actually classified as autistic) has severe behavioral changes when he drinks milk. Please PM me and I can give you additional details/helpful recipes.

I think it is the Feingold Diet.
Relying on memory here......
I bet they gave you this busy child because you are GOOD! :-)
