Chicken Pox

Ok this could be long
My 9 year old has the chicken pox.When he was 6 we thought he had the pox,he only had 5 dots on his body but it was going through the school and they said it was chicken pox.His brother was 9 months old and he caught them 2 weeks later and his body was covered.
We have had the worst three weeks for illness in this house,dh and I and older son had sore throats,my son and I had to go to thge clinic because our necks were swollen,got meds cleared up.This Wednesday my older son wakes up and full of spots,everywhere.My question is hpw long do you have to keep them home once the pox start showing up?In the last 2 weeks before March break he was off for 8 days due to illness so I really don t want to keep him home any longer than needed

Chickenpox is contagious from about 2 days before the rash appears and lasts until all the blisters are crusted over. A child with chickenpox should be kept out of school until all blisters have dried, usually about 1 week.
