cure for back pain
You can substantially reduce or even completely eliminate many kinds of chronic pain with a special diet that's rich in certain carbohydrates, and low in fats, protein and sugar.
Substantially increase your consumption of complex carbohydrates, these include foods such as wholegrains, ( with the exclusion of corn), beans vegetables and fruits, so these make up 70-80% of your food intake.
Avoid refined carbohydrates, such as sugar, honey, and syrups, and cut your total sugar intake by at least 40%.
Avoid all fats and oils including butter, margarine, meat fats and lard, as much as possible. Also avoid fatty meats, whole milk, cheese with more than 1% fat content, and egg yolks.
Give both caffeine and alcohol a miss.
Take an amino acid supplement called tryptophan, this is converted by the body into serotonin, a pain relieving chemical.
The combination of the special diet and the tryptophan should dramatically elevates your pain tolerance.

Saw My Doctor Today
Just wanted to give everyone an update. You all have been so kind to listen to me complain and to encourage me when I've been down.
Well, I saw my doctor today and he said my leg is doing good and that it is about 70% improved. He said I will be on blood thinners for six months at least. I still have quite a bit of swelling in my ankle and knee and he said that it's going to take time and all of the swelling might never go down as I have scarring from the clot. He told me the phlebitis is better. He also placed me on blood pressure medicine. He said all the stress has contributed to make my blood pressure high.
I go for more blood work next week. This will continue for at least the next six months he said.
I think I am getting more used to this even though I have to take Vicodin to sleep. I don't want to get dependent on it so I am careful about taking it.
I feel pretty peaceful right now and have decided to work on getting my strength back and to get some normalcy back in my life.
Again, thanks for your support. It has helped me through this rough time. You wouldn't believe how a word of encouragement gives me added strength!

I was just about to PM you when I found this thread. I have been wondering how you are doing with your leg. That's great news that the doctor thinks you are 70% better. I hope your blood pressure will come down with the medication and that the swelling and in your knee and ankle will go down so you are back to normal. I like your new avatar for spring, I liked the other one you had too, both are very sweet.

Thanks for the info Dream, I'll try this. Autumnlynn, I haven't been on the boards lately. due to travel and my computer needing repaired. I missed what was going on with your health. I am glad to hear you are doing better, and I'll have to look for your previous posts. I've been having problems due to poor circulation in my legs lately due to my diabetes. I've started taking grape seed extract, gingko, and cayenne pepper supplements, as I understand these are supposed to help my veins and circulation.

Hi Staceyy,
I agree with dream somewhat - complex carbs will help a lot with intestinal health which will help the other things. If at all possible try to reduce the amount of wheat in your diet - the high gluten content makes it very hard to digest and it can cause immune issues. Veggies are awesome - watch the fruit with really high sugar content. Meat can be very hard to digest. The other side of the coin would be to eat veggies and meat (lean cuts) and very few carbs this will help as well, but I would use antibiotic free meat and the vegetarian way is more frugal. If you can, add a probiotic supplement - the protein casein in dairy causes issues as does lactose - the only dairy we seem to be able to tolerate are those with good Lactobacillus and Bifodobacterium - they will help you digest as well. BTW, you wouldn't happen to be lactose intolerant are you?Updated January 4, 2012

BTW, if you cannot find tryptophan, 5 hydroxytryptophan will work as well. If you can find neither try a multivitamin with B vitamins in it or B vitamins on their own (in lots of carbs). B6 is needed for serotonin to be made from tryptophan. The other possibility is light exercise if you can tolerate it - this will strengthen you and release the feel good endorphins.
