Does anyone else get this??
Ok, right now I'm buggin out. I'm writing my very last set of exams ever in two weeks then I'm finally done university. I have at least 6 major assignments and a test next week, then I have to study and right my exams the following. After that, everything is up in the air. I have yet to even get an interview for a job, we'll probably need to move somewhere new but I have no idea where because I don't know where I'll get a job. I'm going to miss my friends. I hate the apartment we live in. Its infested with ants that bite, mold etc. and someone on the floor below us got shot the other night. We heard it when we were sleeping. The elevators don't work and we live 10 floors up, the hot water barely works. On top of that, I have no time to keep the house clean, so Its disgusting. DH constantly complains about his work and turns to me as a source of calm (haha, not happening right now). On top of that, I'm a manager at a pharmacy (part-time). I keep getting called in to work when I should be studying or asked to stay later to cover cashiers shifts. People keep calling in sick and I have to worry about covering, we have a manager that I think is stealing money which, since I'm in charge of the cash, I have to deal with it. They want me to work full-time as soon as school is done until I find another job and they want me part-time once I find another. Plus the girl I just trained to replace me (or at least give me a week off) just quit.
Now, the question is...I keep getting really nauseated, really dizzy and every once in a while my chest tightens up, I lose my breath and my heart rate goes up, then it stops. I'm going to the doctors soon for it, but do you think that stress could be causing it, cause if it is, I'm taking a long vacation...Debts

Sorry, that was more of a vent than a question, but I needed it.

I hope you can take a vacation soon. It sounds like it could be stress related. My last job was quite stressful with no real consistency from day to day. I started getting some of those symptoms. As soon as I was out of that environment those things went away. I wish you luck with finishing University. I hope your job calms down a little too, it sounds like you have a lot to deal with there.

You need to see a doctor right away. He or she is the only one who can determine if this is heart related or an anxiety attack. Please promise you will see a doctor.

Sounds like anxiety to me. There's just so much going on in your life right now. Do you have an outlet? Even if it's just venting here on these boards... an outlet is a very productive thing.

JulieB, I do have a dr's appointment coming up. I have had anxiety attacks before and they were very similar.

I have had severe anxiety attacks in the past. My attacks sound very much like what you are experiencing. Hope it all begins to work out for you. Let us know what your doctos says.

It sounds to me, based on the circumstances that you described, that it's stress related. Stress can wreak havoc on your system. Rather than get all sorts of diagnoses I would concentrate on the problem: the stressors.

Oh yeah, that's a familiar feeling.
When I'm really stressed, or moderately stressed for an extended period of time, I get the same symptoms you described, and they usually lead to light-headedness.
I hate that!
My doctor called it panic disorder. He said it's like having adrenaline that's out of control. Think of feeling afraid, our human instinct 'fight or flight' survival mode kicks in... we panic, get a rush of adrenaline. But afterwards, this feeling should go away. When it won't go away, it leaves us feeling sick and icky. That's an extreme example, but anxiety is very much the same feeling.
Just be careful of any meds you doctor may suggest. Some are lifesavers, some give people pretty bad side effects.
I have found that walking for exercise really helps. Let us know how it goes at the doctor appt!

Well, I went to the dr's appt. She told me it is most definatley stress thats causing it. She offered meds but I told her I didnt want any right now. I wanted to try other things before turning to those. She said I should take a week or two off after exams. Its already booked off, I'm doing absolutley nothing but a bit of cleaning and cooking dinner for an entire week. She also told me to start eating properly (I admit, I suck at that) and also to exercise (its a four letter word to me). So once exams are over, Im starting this healthy exercise thing and hopefully the problem will fix itself.

Considering this is your third post about all you have going on, I would have to guess it's an anxiety attack. (Note: I'm a Social Studies teacher...not a doctor...it's just a guess.) Bring it up to your doctor at your next appointment. I'm sure he/she would be able to give you some great techniques for dealing with stress. And, keep venting away here...we've got a lot of great listeners.
