Body Wash vs. Bar Soap
I've always used body wash because the different types of bar soaps I've tried always leave my skin feeling dry/tight. I'm wondering if there are any bar soaps out there that don't do that? Any recommendations?
I like bodywash and all...but I'm guessing bar soap would be cheaper in the long run (depending on brand). I just hate throwing away all those plastic containers from bodywash. A soap wrapper would seem less harmful to the environment.

oooh.. im a bodywash girl. i know that soap would give me more for my money in the long run but.. theres something about scrubbing with a loofah that makes me feel extra clean. i consider my bodywash a treat to myself. its pretty and pink, but im careful about how much i spend on it. DH uses it too sometimes but they were just recently shutting all of the albertson's down in my area and had a storewide clearance up to 90% off EVERYTHING except food. so i guess thats not really everything but you get the picture.
so.. i bought all they had, different brands. everything. i came out of there with $300 worth of household stuff for under fifty dollars.marie/andrea

I use Dove bar soap.
It's cheaper if you buy it at Sam's. It's the only thing that doesn't make my dh itch (he refuses to use body wash...I guess it's not "manly"). I use bath & Body Works body wash when I can get it for $3 a bottle, but I mostly use the Dove soap.

Wow you can get bath and bodyworks for 3.00 a bottle. I must be missing that sale. I bath and body works bodywash and lotion. It is one of the few things I can put on my skin that doesn't make me itch. It's also one of my few indulgences. Do they notify you of the sale?

Bar soap also makes us very dry, itchy, and "rubbery" feeling. Don't know why it does that.

We all use body wash only. I hate the residue bar soap leaves in the tub and shower.
My mom is a firm believer in Dove soap. She does not use anything else but Dove to clean her face and body. She uses no other products to clean or moisturize her face and she looks like she is in her thrities. I kid you not, she is 52 and is mistaken for my twin sister everytime we are together.
If bar soap is what you are looking to switch to I have to say go with Dove.DD (20)

To show you how times of changed, my DD (7+) just found out last year that you can buy soap that comes in bars. I snickered at that but, got to thinking that in the last 10 years things have changed so much. It never occured to me that something so simple could be such a curiosity.

I usually use the 'moisturizing' type of soaps - Dove is one of them. Baby's Own - you can get here at the local dollar store somtimes even at 2/$1.
I prefer bodywash its just easier - have you ever tried scrubbing your bar of soap on the pouffy?! Its just not the same - but its an indulgence for me as well I usually get whats on sale but lately Ive been hooked on the DOVE CREAMY OIL BODY WASH - its sooo moisturizing that I dont need to use lotion after and I ALWAYS have to use lotion after.

Body wash gives me bladder infections if I use it on that area, so I wash with Ivory Pure soap. Smells good and doesn't cause any troubles.

Dove isn't too expensive w/ a coupon
also, I'm sure a store such as Walmart would have a store brand version of Dove -

the only bar soaps i can use are gycerine or castile soap. other than nuetrogenia, i have a hard time finding gylcerine soap, and the castile sopa is so hit and miss finding it at the store that usually have it, i just buy body wash. mostly baby wash.

Sounds like Dove is the way to go...
No Bath & Body works here...and NO Dollar stores at all (whimper). Livin' in Alaska doesn't offer a whole lot of variety.
Great views, though.
We do have Walmart (no Super-Center, though).
Thanks for all the input!!
