    Default Skincare for men?

Hi, I'm a 27yr old male with great skin, and I'd like to keep it that way.

I've never really used a moisturizer, but I think I'm going to start right now just so I can get a good lead.

Can anyone recommend me a good moisturizer for men? Is there any real difference between skincare products for males and females?

What ingredients should I look for?

    Thanks!

~I really don't see how different men's skin would be women's, what most important is your skin TYPE. Is it oily, normal, dry, or a combination of oily/dry? Oily skin types need an oil-free moisterizer; these are water-based products. Dry skin needs an oil based lotion. Try to find one that uses almond or jojoba oil; avoid mineral oil as it doesn't seem to absorb into skin. My skin is combo/sensitive; which means I need to use a fragrance free product. I use Clinique's dramatically different lotion. I think it would be a good choice for a guy. The Clinique representitive can help you determine your skin type. I pay $22 every 6 months for it.HTH!~

I can't back it up with scientific research, but I would not go with the "manly-man" type of moisturizers. It seems like it's so heavy on the alcohol and the fragrance. I'd try just a regular face moisturizer. Gotta be careful though, some of the brands are really heavy on girly fragrance.

My bf uses whatever he finds on my shelf. I have a few different kinds for different times of the day/year. I think he likes the Nutrogena Moisture Oil Free Combination Skin formula the best. Second up to bat is the Dove Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 I think they both work well.

I bought him the mens Nivea Face Wash for Sensitive Skin (b/c thats what he seems to have) but its also something I can use when Im at his place so I dont have to lug toiletries around all the time. Its gentle enough for both of us.

When we're both tight on funds - ironically we both buy the Walmart Brand of Noxema and use that both to wash/moisturize and it works wonders!

Just want to add that finding a moisturizer with sunscreen or using sunscreen on it's own (and reapplying often)is a good thing for all big & small, male & female , young & old. Sunscreen is so important. That alone (and not exposing yourself to the sun for prolonged periods) will keep you looking awesome and keep you healthy skin wise for a long time. Don't forget to get any questionable moles checked too. Wearing sunscreen & taking care of your skin isn't a woosy thing, it a smart manly thing to do.

I use Estee Lauder's moisturizer and I love it. It keeps my face soft and pretty looking without getting all gunky and oily.
