Default What to do about oily skin?

My skin gets really oily a lot. I've tried different cleansers, but all they do is make my face feel really dry and cause it to get oilier. Any tips?

do you use a moisturizer after you wash your face? even with oily skin i use a moisturizer after i wash my face. if you don't use one, look for one made for oily skin or sensitive skin. i use olay complete for sensitive skin. it's lightweight, doesn't make my skin feel greasy, and it has sunblock in it.

My face is really oily, by noon I have to wash again. Which isn't real convenient at work, so I use the Ponds exfoliating wipes, which work real well. I also bought some mattifier, from Mary Kay, which works pretty well when I remember to put it on. I usually wash my face with Ivory.

Have you tried blotting papers? They're handy when you're not able to get to a sink to wash your face-they just soak up the oil.

It's certainly not frugal, but I use Clinique's three-step system. They match the proper facial soap, astringent and moisturizer to your skin type and it's worked wonders for me. It's expensive to buy the three products at first, but they do last for a long time. You can also buy makeup formulated specifically for oily skin.

I have oily skin that will dry out if I use too many or harsh cleansers. Then it will feel even more oily. I have started just using my facial cleanser, I use Pears Soap, I find it at the $1 Store and it's hypo allergenic and won't clog pores. Then I use my face moisturizer. I stopped using exfoliators, astringents, and other products that were "supposed" to help with oily (or in my case acne prone skin). I have noticed that keeping it simple keeps down the oil production on my face. I will blot my face during the day with a tissue if I notice it's getting greasy looking in spots. I also use bare essentuals mineral make up and that seems to keep my face from feeling/looking too shiny.
