Migraines??
Does anyone else here suffer from migraines? What do you take for them and how often do you get them? Also, how many years have you been getting migraines?
I've had bad migraines since I was about 12 years old. I take Relpax when needed, and I get these headaches several times a month.

Hello
I have had terrible headaches since I was 18.
Lately I have been using a hayfever nasal spray and have had no headaches.
I think the doctor mis-diagnosed migraines.
I actually think I am allergic to dustmites and that is why I get sick.
You have all my sympathy Nodough (I don't think most people know how horrible and crippling migraines are)

I've suffered with migraines for over 30 years. They started when I was a child, but I had no clue what they were being so young. They really started getting bad when I was about 16. I get them about once a month, sometimes twice. I take Imitrex for them now. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

I know for some its certain food allergies, others its stress, while for some women its hormonal. I have a friend like that, just before and during ovulation very bad migraines.

Sorry to hear you have migraines. I've been getting them for about five years. I take Amitriptyline as a preventative every day. I also take Relpax as needed. I am under the care of a neurologist for migraines. Mine come in cycles and I will get one every day practically for months on end. I haven't had any in over a year now.

I get migraines, usually once a month, maybe twice. My doctor gave me Imitrex. There is a coupon right now for $25 off, I used it so my entire RX was free! Here is the coupon, you can use it on a new presciption or a refill.

I get migraines all the time but since I have no medical coverage I just take the over the counter Tylenol or Advil, I have to catch my headache on the onset or else it turns into a severe migraine that I cant stand anything... noice, light, anything and I also feel sick to my stomach.

Mine are cycle related and with that I didn't have them the whole time I was pregnant (my dr. said it could go either way but I was lucky and only had one headache the whole time I was pregnant and that was the day I started going cold turkey on caffeine, so I stopped that...lol)
I have taken imitrex in the past but I usually just take a couple excedrine and drink a Coke or Sundrop for extra caffeine. If I'm at home I lay down if I have the time or if Paige is occupied with a movie or toys.
I also tend to get them when my allergies start to act up and when that happens I take sinus excedrine and they tend to go away after a short while.

I get severe migraines also that total debilitate me. No work, no homelife, nothing! I'm a HUGE fan of Imitrex, but if it's not available to you, I would recommend taking an Excedrin Migraine or regular Excedrin with a coke and that will ease it if you catch it before it really takes hold. These work for me in a pinch if I forget to take Imitrex shot with me.

I had a lot of them in college (12 years ago now, yikes) and then they stopped.... up until about two years ago. The only thing that ever really stopped them was sleeping in a dark, QUIET, cool room. Back in college days with living in a dorm, that was hard to do!
I haven't seen a doctor about any meds. Years ago there was a Motrin Migrane out that worked for me, but I can't find it anymore, so I have a bottle of Excedrin Migrane ready and waiting for the next one. I've had a few recently, but they've been in the evening near bedtime, so I've been able to sleep them off.

I get migraines but not as often as I used too. The cause of mine Birth control pills. I can not take any hormones what so ever. I still get them but usually when my hormones go up and down. I tried Imetrex but I we soon learned I am allergic to it, and it is not pretty. Hope that you find relief soon.

I have had migraines since Iwas a teenager. I was taking Imetrex injections 2-3 times a month. Then the I started to watch what I was eating and found out that anything like peanuts, chocolate or anything smoked triggered them. Also the dr. told me to take tylenol with the strongest black coffee you canstand or a mountain dew. This actually worked. I haven't had one now for over a year. Hope this helps.

I have Migraines, but I can usually get by with only taking Excedrin Migrain or 800 mg. Motrin.
My dsil swears by Maxalt, she has had migraines for 40+ years now and that is the first thing that's really made a difference.

I have a friend who is controlling them through diet: no chocolate, no onions, no garlic, no caffeine. It works for him but it wouldn't for me.
Mine are rare but when they come I need a cool dark room to sleep in with no noise and a tylenol extra strength. They make me nauseous so I tend to not eat anything for a meal or two.
