Holy cow! My butt is huge.
I am so sad today. I just realized how big my butt is. Every since I moved to the new house I have NO social life of any kind. So I have been entertaining myself with food. This has to stop. I just dont know how. I know about nutrition and I know how to lose weight I just dont know where I am going toget my wilpower. I have some projects to do that Im gonna use to keep my hands off the food . If my hubby comes home and finds the entire house redecorated I guess he knows it was a bad day. I use to use shopping to distract my mouth but the budget cant handle that. Im not kidding I am huge and I didnt even notice. OF course I knew I was gaining weight but today I sat in a chair next to the mirror and got a glimps of what was hanging out and it was nasty.

It's good you realized what triggers you to eat. No advice, but just letting you know I'm rooting for you

~I know what you mean; when I'm bored I look for something tasty to eat. It helps to not buy those tasty things in the first place. Lately I'm treating myself to my favorite fruits and veggies even if they're pricey. This week I splurged on grapefruit so I'd have something sweet to grab that wasn't the cookies or cake I keep in the freezer for DH. And I'm trying to plan more flavorful meals to get myself excited enough to not snack in between. It's so weird that you're talking about re-decorating, I spent all day today re-organizing and sorting my craft corner. No snacks for me, just water. Keeping busy is a good idea. And turn on the radio! Music makes the time(and the calories) fly!You can do it!~

What about something to keep your mind occupied? I've gotten pretty caught up in Sudoku puzzles (and you don't have to spend a fortune on the books, there are some cheap ones at the Dollar stores). Otherwise, my best suggestion is to simply not HAVE any snack food in the house, and keep meals at meal time and served at the table (not my usual) to help encourage portion control. Good luck, and I am (unfortunately) right there with you!

HUGE hugs! I have the same problem, only it's my stomach! I'm now going to workout classes at my church (3x a week for an hour each) and I'm on week 2 and feel better........even if I don't really notice looking better yet. LOL

Your comment made me laugh as I said the exact same thing to my hubby and bless his heart, he was smart enough not to make a comment back. LOL. It took me looking in a mirror to finally realize I needed to lose weight and tone up. I started small by walking about 1/2-1 mile 4-5 times a week and I'm here to tell you IT WAS HARD to get myself motivated, but I was tired of hearing my own excuses and complaining about it. I'm now up to 4-5 miles 3 times a week and 1 mile 4 times a week. It didn't seem like much at first, but now that I've been doing it for about 3 months, I've really noticed a change. I took baby steps, but with each baby step, I grew stronger. I've also started eating right, which is DEFINATELY hard in my house as I've got major sweet tooth addicts, but YOU CAN DO IT!!!! It's taken my 3 months to loose 17 pounds and drop 2 sizes, but I lost it the "right" way by exercise and intake. I did the Adkins about 3 years ago and lost a bunch fast, but it came back fast too. LOL!!!
HANG IN THERE & YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I did adkins and it worked , atleast until I went off of it. I keep loseing and gaining the same weight. Im going to drop the sweets and treats for now.
Im looking for a nice used treadmill. My dh wants one too so it was easy to get him on board with the idea. Im also going to limit my time on the computer.

yeah that look in a mirror can be a good motivator. i had been walking at the mall, then had some bad fibro days and hadn't been in a few weeks. then i looked int eh mirror one day and said yikes. now i walk every weekday with a friend. we walk 2 miles around the park near her house. the kids are out of school at the end of next week and then they will go along with us. everyone will get exercise that way. i think we'll try to bump it up to 3 miles soon. good luck with getting moving and losing!

Oh I sympathize with you. I gain my weight in my stomach and around my neck and face
When I was young I liked looking in mirrors, now I avoid them!
I think you'll really enjoy a treadmill, I have music & a t.v. set up next to mine. It really helps during the winter months.
I'd love to find a nice forum (like this one
) to motivate me to loose some weight, like this board helped me to pull together my finances....

I know what you mean. Although I found that I eat when I am happy, sad, bored, tired... you name it and I can eat. I just love food. I have a very active job and alot of times I don't sit until it is time for bed so that keeps some of it off. I have been trying to exercise by walking the dog and my daughter will ride her scooter or bike and we do a mile a couple of times a week. Can you do some walking in your new neighborhood? It might get you to meet the neighbors and socialize a bit that way. Best of luck with your weight loss.
