It's a VERY rare occasion that I do either. Most people don;t even know that I wear them ( I have worn glasses since I was 4) I have worn contacts for over 20 years now (NO WAY AM I OLD ENOUGH TO SAY THAT ~ UGH!)
Anyway, I wear mine longer than the recommended 2 or 3 weeks, but never overnite - I hate how they feel after a nap!

my niece just recently had bacteria infections in her corneas from over wearing her contacts. She slept in them, wore them for more than the 2 weeks recommended without putting in a new pair. She is lucky she did not damage her eyes..... they were swollen, red and very sore and she walked around here like a blind person for almost a week while they healed. Be cautious.

I'm with you!! No leaving the house without contacts IN!!
They are THE best thing! I hate wearing glasses!!
The general consensus sounds like what my gut was telling me...out they come that night. I've fallen asleep in mine for short periods of time - like 45 minutes...and my eyes DO feel way dry after that. I'll just wash my hands somewhere/somehow and go for it. Healthy eyes are way more important!
Thanks for all the input!

I had one of those infections. I'd leave my 2-week contacts on my eyes for the 2 weeks. I did this for about 2 years and then my eyes got bad. I had to use a $80 eye drop ACK! Even now I can't wear contacts every day because my eyes get really dry since that infection.

My eyes get dry even from wearing my contacts all day. I have occasionally taken a short nap with them in, but again, the dryness drives me nuts. Are there eye drops that would help keep your eyes more lubricated while wearing contacts?
