I have to agree that getting older is the pits!! I have noticed if I sit for long periods of time that the joint in my knees start to hurt. I also have trouble with my neck and back from time to time....something that never bothered me before.

I have to take a few moments to get my balance and get my feet and legs working when I get up. Mine is from peripheral neuropathy and no fun at all. I loose my balance and run into the doors and walls - it can be funny at times. I look like a pinball bouncing around in a pinball machine.

I feel the aches, too, mostly in my back and knees. It's kind of wierd to wake up in the morning feeling like a wreck! I'm almost 48, so.....

Yup, I have a hip injury that stoves me up when I sit for a while. I look like one leg is about 6 inches shorter than the other for the first 20 steps and then I can run....

Due to all the health problems I have I have NO idea what it feels like to NOT hurt. I have been in constant pain for the past 19 years
some days it gets soooo bad that I need a walker just to walk around my small house

You might want to loosen you muscles before you get out of bed. Just roll your joints around, neck, arms, ankles ect.. I know my MIL does this so she doesn't fall with her arthritis and it really helps. I have done it and it seems to get the blood flowing for me.

I'm 50. I have aches and pains in my shoulders and neck on a daily basis. My legs hurt when I stand for too long. My circulation is not good. The one thing that helps is staying physically active. Aspirin helps when the neck pain goes up the back of my head and feels like a toothache.
It's funny to think that I was was once so young, limber and energetic. Now I'm old, achy, but wiser, oh so much wiser, lol.

Yep. I toddle around like an old Chinese lady who had her feed tied to her ankles for sometimes as much as an hour every morning - hence my early-bird arising (gives me time to get over it before I have to get ready to be out anywhere). I also have trouble with my hips and knees (related?) that makes it miserable for me to sit through a movie at the theater or to drive long distances. I do better with concerts or plays that have intermissions - apparently about an hour with a little margin for error is tolerable. Mine does better when I take Glucosamine Chondroitin tablets, but I get uptight about spending the money on them sometimes and quit for a while. Seems to take about a month of taking them regularly for them to make a big difference, and about 2 or 3 months of quitting to start hurting really bad again. Also, hot baths and massage tend to help mine, and heel cups and supportive shoes make a huge difference on my hips.

Oh yeah, I hear you. I am (ahem) 40ish and lately getting out of bed, I need to walk slowly at first....not that I used to spring out of bed. Just noticing a little stiffness, also in my hips when I do a lot of walking....sigh...but I do have all original parts !!!

I am 45 and have never had any of the pain you all speak of. I feel as healthy as I did in my teens. I think its half luck, half years of the healthiest lifestyle I could attain.I am blessed.

I had no aches or pains until a really bad wreck (hit by logging truck) 6 years ago at 48. I try to just grin and bear it cause by all rights, I shouldn't be here. I had broken bones and injuries to parts of my body that I had never heard of before, LOL. My back, knee, shoulder and neck on my left side give me the most problems.

I took a picture of myself today on
's camera phone. I had just gotten a great hair cut and wanted to give him a nice picture of myself. To my absolute horror, I discovered that the camera reveals an ugly truth -- I may be beginning to get wrinkles!
Can anyone suggest a good night cream?
