I'm seeing a Nutritionist today!! *excited*
So, after writing what seemed like a book on the dental ins post, I thought I'd share with yall the fact that I'm seeing a nutritionist today!!
I'm very excited because I'm hoping that with his or her guidance, I can help myself become a better me and learn to take better care of my body.
I'm short. 5'4.5 although.. if I'm having a good day, I'll just say 5'5. I went to an out of state all women's college where I learned to feel oh so very comfortable with myself and empowered that by the time i was done.. I had gained 60 pounds.
I've lost that weight now, and I'm anywhere from 160 to 165 on any given day. But I'd really love to be in the 140's, but I can't seem to get anywhere lower than 160 so... I'll be going over that with him/her today. Wish me luck!marie/andrea

I love my nutritionist, she is so sweet and funny. I go at least once a year and sometimes more frequently if I need a boost. Both of my kids go to a nutritionist with Children's Hospital every six months. Ms. Laura has taught them so much over the years.
I hope you get as much out of your visit as we get from ours.DD (19)

I was wondering the same things as Palooka and do if you feel comfortable please share what information the nutritionist shares with you. I would love to see an expert, but getting insurance to agree would probably be a problem.

ya, me too. I had a friend that went and shared some stuff with me, but they did bloodwork and all sorts of stuff to custom her diet to her needs. It sounded really cool, made me want to go, but ins. wont cover doing it for fun, so.....ya, if you could share, please

I usually go every 2-3 years. I get a referral from my family doctor but now I've moved onto seeing an endochronologist for my diabetes. I've gone through the diet/exercise course with the diabetes education centre in the hospital. Even though I had a referral I had to pay $30 - one time fee and if I ever need support etc I am able to go back as long as I make an appointment.
So far - I think Im doing well. Im not gaining and not really losing but I just feel better b/c I've learned to put the 'right foods' into my body vs the stuff I 'thought was right'.
If you can get the opportunity to see a nutritionist/dietican - Id reccomend it!2012: The Year Of The Purge!
