    Default Skin Tag

I have a skin tag that is growing under my lower eyelid. It isnt bothering me but I hate the way it looks. What can I do about it? I called a couple of eye doctors and since it is sooo close to the eye they wont touch it. Any adivce would be appreciated.

    TIA

You can definitely have it removed. I guess a plastic surgeon would be the one to do it? You might need to be sedated so you don't move unexpectedly.

My DH gets them all the time. Call a dermatologist and they can take care of it. No sedation is needed. He says it doesn't hurt a bit.

I would call a derm. also! They aren't bad to remove, I used to help remove them in the Dr. office I worked at.

Was this covered by his insurance? and how were they removed? i was reading about it online and most places i saw listed it as a cosmetic surgery and said that insurance would not cover it. id really hope that it would though.

Since it's so close to your eye, I wouldn't do this, but elsewhere on the body, my mom used to get styptic powder and cut them off with nail clippers, then put the styptic on to stop the bleeding. I could never do that myself!

Yes, our insurance covered the cost. We only had to pay the $10 co-pay. If I remember correctly he had like 6 removed that day. They just used a scalpel to remove them. The nurse did all but the one near his eye.
