Do you have a specific time you find yourself constantly munching?
I find from around 4- 6 p.m is when I'm constantly munching while making supper and giving the kids a snack.
So to help that, I'm now finding something to do between those hours. Either I'm reading a book (can't do 2 things at once) or I'm hand quilting a quilt. I'm making suppers that I don't find myself munching on (casseroles come to mind) and the kids are having to get their own snacks now. Its working for me.
DH works a second shift and has for all but 3 of our 25 year marriage. So many times after getting DD to bed, I would munch..and munch...mostly salty crunchy stuff...not an sweet/ice cream fan.
Between 3 and 7pm, habit held over from when I worked late second shift and third shift. Never felt like eating until around this time, and still usually don't feel like eating much of anything till this time. I'm trying to break out of this, as well as my long-standing addiction to sweet pastries and soda. I've been a bad, *bad* girl and am paying for it now.
I usually want something late night almost before bed. ugh
I was watching an Oprah episode once where she said something like think of that craving and feeling as your body telling you it's calories burning or fat burning. I think of that and just go to bed instead of adding that one additional snack.

I crave stuff all evening til bedtime and once in a while I'll even wake up in the middle of the night wanting something to eat Every evening is a real struggle. I'm trying to eat apples, carrots, or drink water instead of grabbing the junk food, some nights I do well, others not so well, but at least not every night is a total munch out anymore so I am making progress.
I crave from 2:00 until around dinner. I used to find it easier when I was single because I just wouldn't have anything tempting at home. DH loves the junk and I'll eat it if it is there
. Most of the time I manage not to have any at home. I ask dh to just leave it in his car. HUH!
Usually between about 8 or 9 until I go to bed. I try to keep some fruit and some un buttered microwave popcorn on hand at all times so at least I'm not eating to unhealty before bed time.
