    Default My Hair Turned BLUE!

So, I dye my hair tonight. I am a natural blonde, so I just went with a light blonde shade. Well, now it's BLUE! I don't swim, so it's not from chlorine. I am at a loss. I tried to rinse it using dish soap which will sometimes strip the color.

(Sigh) Guess I am gonna have to make the best of it until at least Tuesday when the salons open.

check out the dye company's web site, or call the 800 number! and i know it's probably the last thing you wanna do, but take a pic. maybe if they can see it, they'll know what to do on Sunday or Monday and maybe you won't have to wait. And a pic might come in handy just in case. Sorry it's happened. Hope it is an easy fix.

Is the color you used lighter or darker than your natural color? Color specialist here.....

There is a product in the hair color aisle at walmart that removes color from your hair. when you use it, your hair will turn orange but then you apply hair dye and all better! I had a color mis-hap before and my friend who is a beautician told me to buy this stuff...it was also on the weekend and she was out of town lol. the orange was scary but the new color took beautifully. good luck!

The color I used is lighter. I think what happened is my hair pulled in the base color of thee dye. I am afraid to use the stripper lotion because it is extremely damaging. I'm hoping if I go a little darker it'll mask it....

If you used an ash blonde, it pobably has either a green base or a blue base. If your hair was very porous, then it probably retained the base color.

OH MY GOODNESS! I'm sorry this happened to you, but hmmm, bet it wouldn't be noticed with all the funny colors kids are using/doing these days, hmm, you could pretend to be a teen for a while?

Seriously, hope you get it fixed! Let us know the outcome.

I wanted to add that I don't know what condition your hair is in or how blue it is, but the safest bet would be to wait until the salons open on Tuesday, if you can live with it until then. Let us know what happens.

when I dyed my hair and it turned green . . .so, yes that stuff happens and I was in the same boat, but it was a week before I could get to the salon. My hair was / is long, so I wore it up with big clips . . . Good luck!

I THOUGHT my hair was in great condition. And I have never had a problem with at home color. Maybe it had something to do with the brand. It was Garnier 100%.

It is a light blue and kinda streaked through like highlights. Hmmm, a teen! Ha, and here I am all upset BC I turn 35 in a few weeks LOL

Well, I was able to fix it by coloring it a light brown. Hmmmm, so much for going lighter!

I'm glad it worked out for you. You were brave to do it again yourself. I bet you look good as a brunette!
