    Default Vicodin

As most of you know, my doctor prescribed Vicodin when I had a blood clot in my leg. It has a very unexpected side-effect. It really helps my asthma. It dries up the congestion, and I feel so much better. I discussed this with my doctor and he said it was safe for me to continue since I only take it at night. I told him I was worried about addiction, but he said since I am only using it at night I could continue it. He said it wouldn't be his choice to treat my asthma symptoms, but it was okay to continue.

What do you think? I'd appreciate any input you may have; whether you agree or disagree.

I would be afraid to continue using something routinely that is addictive. However I also hate to feel congeted and unable to breathe more than anything else. If anything else worked near as well and wasn't addictive I'd go with that. If nothing else does then I would deffinately consider the Viciodin.

I think that it is okay, as you are taking them at night. If you were taking 5 - 10 a day, then that would be a different story! From my experience as a nurse, it seems like it would be safe. I take ativan, one at night, otherwise I wouldn't sleep at all.
