Anyone ever have pain on their right side?
All day today I have been having this dull aching pain in my right side, right under my rib cage. It gets worse if I sit a certain way, it feels almost like someone is sticking their finger right up under my rib cage. I am debating going to the walk in clinic, but the wait time is 3 hours today.
Has anyone ever had something similar?personal loan 900/15000

I'd at least talk to a nurse/practitioner if you could, lots of things in the general area there. A little high for appendix or kidney (more towards your back) but could also be in the area of the gall bladder. Most I've known with gall bladder attacks have SEVERE pain though, doubling up pain.
I'd get it looked into.

The first few gallbladder attacks I had were pretty mild. The third one was so severe I went to the ER for pain medicine b/c the pain would not stop. Probably need to have an Ultrasound to check it out. I hope you feel better.

Does your insurance have an "Ask a Nurse" phone number? I would at least give that a call. What about a pulled muscle?

Sounds like gallbladder to me also. Gallbladder pain can also start under your ribcage then radiate to the right side of your back or the right side of your chest. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm another vote for gallbladder... had mine out a few years ago after horrible attacks.
Had you eaten anything greasy or fatty? Consumed caffeine? Those things can bring on gall bladder attacks in some people.
If it persists, I'd get it checked out.

From someone who just had theirs taken out 2 weeks ago, I'd say gallbladder too. The first few attacks were mild and a change in position helped. If it persists or recurs I'd see the doctor.

I had a similar situation last year. The pain ended up so severe I ended up in the ER. They ran a CT Scan and thought it was my appendix. When they got in to remove it, turned out it was an extremely large ovarian cyst.
In my case they found it too late and it ruptured, taking an ovary and tube with it, so it ended up being pretty extreme.
I would definately suggest a CT Scan or Ultrasound. There are just too many possibilities and you will feel better for knowing.
Good luck! And I hope you are feeling better soon.

I'd bet it's your gall bladder. The good news is that if it gets better, chances are at some point you'll know for sure b/c once you start having gall bladder attacks they don't go away forever until you have it taken out.

Oh man, I'm glad I looked at this post! I've been having this sort of problem for about 3 months now and had no idea it could have been my gallbladder!

it sounds kinda high for what i was thinking. a long time ago i had a problem with ovulating like a couple of other people suggested. i went to the er and was there forever and had 3 pelvic exams (never go in may--with all the new interns dying to try out stuff). for the first 3hrs i was there they kept talking about appendicitis and then finally made a f/u with my ob/gyn. he knew what it was. it's called mittelschmerz or midpain and happens when you are ovulating. i thought i was dying, it hurt so bad. but he put me back on birth control and i've haven't had it happen again (this was about 15 yrs ago when i was younger im 42 now)
