UGLY WEEK
This has been an awful week!! On Tuesday we found out that Mom has breast cancer. I have been on all the cancer forums and she has had testing all week, tomarrow being MRI which will be the last test before she meets with her Dr. to decide where to go from here. All of her sisters have had breast cancer, so we knew it was a matter of time before a mammo came back scary, but that still didn't prepare us for this at all. My heart just aches at the thought/possiblity of my Mom not being in this world. If there are any breast cancer survivors or if you have any helpful questions to ask Dr.'s, anything, I will be grateful from any and all input. Thanks for listening guys.

BIG HUGS TO YOU!!!
A dear friend of our's wife was just diagnosed last week and we're all reeling from the news, she's only 45 (just two years older than me!)
The GOOD news is that she was informed and aware, it has been caught quickly and they are going to be aggressive.
There have been so many advances in knowledge and treatment of breast cancer in the last few years that the outlook is vastly improved.
Give your mom a hug for all of us, our thoughts will be with you through this.

so sorry and good prayers
Get informed, visit the nearest cancer center. try to stay positive. I have a girlfriend that has gone throu this at age of 55. SHe had a breast removed, chemo done, reconstructive surgery. It looks pretty good but no nipple on it yet. Was really scary for awhile. but now is old news.

There are bc survivors here in the Village, may take a few days but I'm sure they will be sending their words of hope & faith to you.
Take good care & know that we are all wishing your Mom & family our best.

aunt had breast cancer, mom had uterine cancer.
best advice i can give you is to get all the info you can from the doc so you aren't in the dark. if you don't understand soemthing, ask questions until you do. if the doc seems to blow you off, ask for a new doc. find out all the options available.sometimes teh nurses can explain procedures better than the docs. the most frustrating thing for my mom was not getting straight answers from one of the docs. dad is retired navy so we had to go through teh naval hospital. i went with her one trip. we wrote down all of her questions before hand and i did some research at the college library before the appointment to try to find osme answers for her. he tried to brush her off on a couple of questions and tried to ignore another. i stood up for her and made sure he answered her questions and we had another doc come in to explain something else.
it's gonna be a rough time while everything is getting sorted out and a plan made, but be supportive, and if you can and your mom wants you to, go with her to her appointments. the moral support will do her good.
prayers for your momma and family.
btw my momma is 11 years, almost 12 cancer free, and aunt is 10 years cancer free.wife to carl

I was diagnosed with BC when I was 32. I am now 41. I had all the possible treatments and was cancer-free for five years. Then, just as I thought I was healthy again, it came back. Now I know that my cancer is incurable. But, I am still here and doing relatively fine.
Your mom is not going anywhere just yet. Treatments are not nice at all but they are effective. And they are way better now than they were when I first found out I am ill. Most likely your mother will survive this completely.
