Ever shaved your head?

Or went from long to very short hair? I sometimes feel like my hair is in such bad shape with split ends,the hair dyeing and all that the only way to get it to grow out healthy and rid the split ends is to shave it all off!

I am too chicken, so far, to actually do it, though. I know I wouldn't look good at all bald, either. My hair grows so slowly and I wonder how long it would take just to get it to my shoulder if I shaved it all off.

I see a lot of gray haired ladies who have very short hair and I wonder if they can even grow it any longer once they get it all cut off.

Comments? Ideas?

Actually, I shaved my head. After my first chemo treatment, it started to come out, so dh shaved it for me. It was long and straight. Now it is only 4in. long (want longer) and curly!

I went from hair past my shoulders to a short pixie cut before. I loved it. It was very drastic and if you're not ready for it, you should do it in stages.

I do not know about the age thing. I often wonder that too! I did cut my hair from the middle of my back to abovemy shoulders. I hated it! It seemed to take forever to grow back! Now it is long again and with winter and the static I am thinking about cutting it a little.

i too went from waist length hair to a pixie cut. wow did my head feel funny for awhile. now that ive decided to grow it back, it seems like its taking forever! a year later and its only about chin length. this is the longest its been since i cut it off back in college.

I had hair down past my butt until I was 11 years old. I hated it. I've mostly worn my hair short since then. I have tried to let it grow a couple of times, but now I can't stand it on my neck.

Wash and go - love it!

I actually shaved the bottom half of my head during my rebelious stage in high school. It looked silly but felt real good in the summer.

mY SIL who is 8 month pg just shaved hers.She got a bad haircut and just shaved it off again.I guess hormones were involved lol

OMG THAT IS FUNNY!!!! OH LORDY!!!

And no, never shaved mine, thinking about a tatoo though (going through my second childhood here)

I have done the waist length to short short. Loved it.

To help your hair grow faster and thicker try taking vitamin B complex. Tip from my hair dresser and it works!

Nope but my cousin did 2 weeks before being a bridesmaid in my wedding (and I mean GI Jane shaved) I didn't care but my aunt had a fit. I had to spend hours convincing her it really was ok for her to still be in my wedding.

Doing it in stages sounds like a good idea. My sister went from waist length hair to shoulder length, and still keeps it there, but she didn't go all the way to short hair.

I've let my hair grow long twice and both times I was able to donate almost 18 inches to 'locks for love'. Last time was in June but I've decided to keep it short. It's so simple to maintain short and takes ten years off my looks.(so I'm told.. lol). Hey, at my age I need all the help I can get.
