I'm really afraid..(Personal)
I need your input my friends...Last week I was awakened from a sound sleep in the middle of the night from a terrible..terrible pain in my right breast..Only my right breast..And no I'm not due for my cycle for 2-1/2 weeks from now..I've been having this every other night now since last week.. I figured it would go away and it didn't.. I'm very afraid right now..My Grandmother is a breast cancer surviver from several years ago..What do you think might be causing this? Thanks for any information and support..

caffine will cause pain in the breast..if so cut out the caffine for a while
good luck i hope its something simple like i said
i dont think you usually have pain in the breast with cancer unless it so far gone..my mom is going through it now and she never knew she had it there

I have fibroids sp? of the breast so I have lots of lumps in general..I had my last checkup a little over a year ago w/no problems.. Thank you so much..

Did you do something that could pull a muscle? You would be surprised how many times I have a pain like that because I picked up something too heavy or moved the wrong way.
Caffine will also do that.
As far as I know most of the time cancer doesn't show itself with pain.

I would be scared too. Especially with a family history. I recommend you GO SEE A DOCTOR. Why would you even take a chance?
Not acting due to fear will only waste time and cause more worry. (I, unfortunately, have seen this.)

I'm one that will wait till I can't take it anymore..I should of posted that I will be making an appointment as soon as I get life insurance..I want to make sure I get the life insurance now just in case it is cancer..I'm not gonna wait and find out that I do have cancer before getting the Life insurance and then have such high rates that we won't be able to afford to pay the premiums..I just told my Dh about my problem(he's in California and will be home on Thursday)and that as soon as he gets home we will go get the life insurance.. He told me to make an appointment today w/the Dr's..I told him I refuse to go till I know that our family is covered just in case..

Cancer isn't painful until the final stages. I know this for a fact as a survivor and a nurse.

I guess if it was me, I'd get it checked out with my doctor. It wouldn't hurt to cut out the caffeine, but with a family history, I think I would.

I had the pains in my breast from caffeine. I cut back caffeine and my dr told me to take vitamin E, it definitely helped.

Just last week I had a pain and a big lump in my left breast, it went away. My guess would be all the caffine.

I, too, have had sharp pains in one breast and it was all related to caffeine. It happens every time I have more than my usual.

Pleurisy also has similar symptoms and can wake you with agonising pain, similar to that of a heart attack.
I've often had similar chest/breast pains just sitting at my work desk. Or have been woken up in the middle of the night. Have you recently had a viral infection?
