    Default Is consumerism making you stressed & depressed?

    It seems that the mantra of "Shop till you drop" is making people
    sick & depressed.

    Why?

    Oh, I SOOOOO like the link you gave us, Nightshade! Especially at the very bottom of the article where they talk about 'technology worship'. I think this is so true of our society (and my dh and ds's). Everyone thinks they cannot live without the next and the NEXT new techno-gadget.

    Interesting article although I don't agree with all of it. I think it kind of oversimplifies depression rather than understands it. Must have been written by someone who has never experienced either depression or anxiety i think!

    I am getting so sick of all of the consumerism at Christmas...that's not what Christmas is about.I hate to get out into traffic to pick up my kids from work-its right next door to the mall....and I am avoiding Walfart until mid January.GGGRRR.
