DD has MONO...
...or at least the doctor says until we get blood test results tomorrow. She has every symptom---fatigue, sore throat, swollen glands, swollen spleen......
Her grades are iffy at best this semester, and she has to go to Saturday school a couple of times before the Christmas break due to cutting some classes
and now she's supposed to stay home and rest for the rest of this week!
Sorry----just needed to vent!!!

Aw.
I hope your DD gets to feeling better soon and is able to get her grades up. Maybe if you talk to her teachers, they can arrange for her to do some work at home.

Poor thing
Make sure she rests. I had mono in my junior year and ended up being out of school for over 2 months due to complications, enlarged spleen, etc... I'd contact her school and let them know what's going on. My school sent a tutor to my house twice a week with all my work.

My college niece had mono, in July! The doctor called her boss and told her she needed to be away from the bookstore for a week. Her boss sent her home, actually I went and got her. She
for a week and then ended up having to quit her second job as it was just too much for her. She is still suffering from some of the fatigue and gets sick pretty quick.

My son had Mono, and actually didn't miss that much of class. We did take a vacation and he had two weeks off for that, but he really didn't have any major problems.

My DS had it when he was in college ~ it was the sickest I had ever seen him. Luckily, it was over spring break so he didn't miss too much school.

I had it when I was in high school and it was awful. I later had a relapse, about 8 or 9 years later and it lasted for about 2 years. I hope your dd gets the rest she needs and be sure to give her vitamins and make sure she's drinking enough.

i had it when I was a freshman. I think it was the first week of school that I got it and then was out for about 2 months. I was so behind when I got back. I couldn't even walk to the bathroom or take a shower. It was awful! I lived on Gatorade and lots so much weight.
If one of my kids got it I would feed them tons of green juice and green smoothies. If you have a juicer, juice fruits with some green leafy veggies or you can put everything in a blender for a long time to get it down to the liquid consistency (I drink a green smoothie every morning with a banana, apple, kale or spinach, and a little fresh ginger for taste, cover with water and blend away). The greens are so good for you this way and your body actually starts intaking the vitamins as soon as they get in your mouth.
