    Default Underarm odor problem!

    Hi all,
I am 22 years college girl and living in hostel. I have problems with underarm odor and the only remedy is taking a shower with good water pressure. Is there any another option that can be removed my underarms odor? Your advice will be highly appreciated.

After your shower, pat on rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball. It works.

If you have just shaved, wait a little while before applying the alcohol.

You can also, do the same, later in the day and reapply anti perspirant afterwards.

Wash with white vinegar, dry and then pat on corn starch. Wash underarms when you get a chance, a couple of times a day, that should keep it under control.

On a side note, my dd get severe sweat stains under her armpits. Have tried many different products but haven't found any good ones. Any suggestions? She has ruined many of her shirts because of this problem.

I have a 22 year friend who couldnt figure out why at first she couldnt get rid of the odor under her arms ans in her feet.
She had a build up if yeast in her body. She went to holistics and they gave her something to cleanse her out. Nosugar, no milk, and no red meat for awhile.
    It worked.

I was going to suggest that you make sure you shave often (every other day or whenever you see hair growth). Make sure your armpits are dry before you apply the deodorant. The rubbing alcohol someone suggested would help dry the area before applying your deodorant. Use a name brand deodorant like Dove or Secret and then finish with a sprinkle of baby powder or something similar to that with talc.

Do you wear tight shirt? I used to get stains all the time and switched to wearing looser shirts and that helped. I also carry deodorant with anti-perspirant with me for touch ups

My suggestion would be to bath with a deodorant soap (safeguard, dial, etc). Let the lather sit in your underarm area for a few minutes and rinse. My Grandma always had us do that. Alledgedly (according to her), it helped to kill any bacteria that might be festering around. Not sure if it's really true or not. . .but I'm 52 and I still do it.

I tend to sweat a lot and I have been using the new Secret Clinical Strength deodorant. Let me tell you that it works great! My underarms never even get moist and there is no odor. It does cost more than the average deodorants, but I feel that it is well worth the price.

I have had that problem for years and have tried many things. I'm allergic to lots but found that I can use Dial soap to shower with and use Suave 24-Hour Protection Deoderant. It works great for me. No stains, and no sweating unless I'm having frequent hot-flashes, lol.

Just be careful. I'm allergic to the regular Secret and Degree and some others. They give my an underarm rash. Always buy the smallest amount or try a free sample whenever possible when trying a new deoderant.

OHHHH. . .you reminded me of something that happened with I was 18 years old and was dating an older man. When we went out on a date, he kept scratching his armpits. Well. . .it was quite obvious to him that it was embarrassing me terribly. I kept looking downward and was blushing. He said that he was sorry, but he was using Mitchum deodorant and it was making him very itchy. I didn't believe him. After we stopped dating, I tried Mitchum and I started scratching my armpits too. . lol. That is one deodorant that I just can't wear. . . haha.

I use Secret Clinical Strength, but I have more of a wetness problem. I apply it after my shower at night (per directions) & again in the morning. May need to adjust how often you apply it; I was a little sensitive when I started using it. Can't tell you what a difference it has made! Maybe not 100% all the time, but has worked better than anything else I've tried (& I've tried alot of products). I started using it this past Spring (April or May).

As for the stains on shirts, I treat the area with detergent before washing (wet fabric first then rub detergent into area). Think I'm seeing more deodorant residue & noticed the fabric doesn't soak up water (underarm area only) when I'm loading it into the washer. "Pre-treating" seems to be helping some.
