What is the No S Diet?
Alot of you are following it, but I've never heard of it. Please explain!

I hadn't heard of this one either, so I Googled it and got this site: http://www.nosdiet.com/
It says "no snacks, no sweets, no seconds, except on days that start with S" on the title bar, but I can't get the rest of the page to load.
I'll be curious to hear what people have to say about this plan!

I am a karate instructor and am often asked about diets. I will try any diet myself before making a recommendation, so I will qualify my statement here by saying I have not yet tried the "No S" diet.
I would think that if sugar and snacking are weaknesses of yours, then it would be a good starter diet to sort of kick-start a weight loss program. I have a feeling the weight loss would plateau after a few weeks and then more dietary changes would be necessary (ie removing white flour and white rice products, etc).
I have found that the Body For Life diet and exercise program is one of the best out there. It is easy to follow, you get one "cheat day" a week to eat whatever you want, and if you stick with it, the weight comes off quickly (and in a healthy manner).
If BFL isn't for you, then I would see nothing wrong with starting out with the rules of the "No S" diet and seeing how it works for you. I'm intrigued enough to try it myself, but I really don't eat much sugar in the first place, so I can't anticipate much of a change.

I'm doing the "no s diet" and I'm trying not to think of it as a diet...just the way it is. The rules are simple and as long as you are not an "idiot" (his words) on the S days it will work. It will be slow and steady, but it will work. I am also working out and have been losing. His website is very informative and amusing to read. It all makes sense to me. He says fad diets don't work because you won't stick to them, and they have silly rules. I've done South Beach before, and became obsessed with food and eating. With No-s I feel more free. Like it is just natural. I eat Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm not starving and I also don't feel bloated and yucky every day. I've only been doing it for 2 weeks , but it feels right for me. There isn't a list of foods not to eat, so you can eat which ever way you want. After doing South Beach I still have a lot of those eating habits and I'm just conforming them to work with No-S. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask me any questions!

I've been doing it since 10/15 (no adding WW in due to friend's request) and I've lost 30 pounds to date. I exercise daily, eat good whole foods and cut out the junk except for S days, and even then the portions are much smaller.
It's a livable plan, if you want to eat with friends and family, and don't want to spend $$$ on diet products.
