What does it cost for cleaning & fillings at your Dentist?
I just got back from visiting my dentist, I had a cavity taken care of, first one I've had in a while.
It was a little more labor intensive since my partial hooks up to it and cost me $195. Cleanings + check up runs about $95 I think. No dental insurance here. I used to go once a year for cleanings to save money & it only earned me heartache so I reluctently go 2x a year but only have the doctor check my teeth once a year.
What's it cost where you are? You do anything special to save money?~*Darlene*~

Here in the UK, if you are under the care of an NHS dentist, dental care is free at the point of service (i.e. we pay for it in our taxes) for anyone under the age of 16 (19 I think if still in full time education), pregnant women and mothers with babies under 12 months of age, retirees and anyone on state benefits. So we don't pay for dental care at all for our two kids. For us, a cleaning and check up runs around £15 ($30), a filling is about £17 ($34). My husband had a crown last year, which cost around £200 ($400). Of course, a private dentist (who is not subsidised by the NHS) will charge whatever they want.

We have really good dental insurance so cleanings and checkups are free, fillings (resin) are between $7-10.
When we didn't have insurance, I just got the cheaper amalgam fillings and they were $50-75 each. Our dentist worked with us and let us pay him off in payments.Nicole, Mom of 4 ages 6-16~

For DH, DD and I our dentist chrages $105. Since DS is under 13 years old he still goes to a pediatric dentist and his visits are $90 when he gets x-ray and $72 when he does not (he gets x-rays every other visit).
We have awseome insurance coverage. Each of us goes every six months for our cleaning, x-rays, etc... Insurance covers all of that 100%. DS had to get fillings once and they were covered 80%. We only had to pay like $12. I think the charges were somewhere around $28 a tooth.
But, if the kids need a filling I pay the $25 extra for them to get the gas. Our insurance will not pay for it at all. However, since insurance won't pay it, we file it on our flex plan and get that back.DD (19)

We have dental insurance and the cost for cavity depends on what tooth it is...oddly enough. I think the most I've paid is $26 for a filling. I've seen what it would cost before insurance and holy crap I'd go broke lol.

I just had 5 fillings and 1 crown done in Nov/Dec. First time in 25 years I have had any work done. (mom is always last!!!) We have great dental insurance, but I didn't know there was an $1100 per year maximum per person. I had everything done and now I owe a bill for something like $700.00! I think my fillings were like $180 each and the crown was almost $900.00! Oh, well, had I known, I would have waited for this month for some of it. I guess I didn't ask and nobody told me. Tough lesson to learn. But now I know.

cleaning for adults- no insurnace runs about- $30 with check up I think it was under $100. I know for the kids we pay $15 each paid to the goverment once a year till they are adults. That pays for 2 cleanings and check ups and any fillings and xrays if they need them.

cleanings are about $125 for me and then x-rays are around $100. Fillings are anywhere from $150-$200 each (maybe it depends on the tooth).

We have a nice dental plan. We both go in for a clean and checkup every six months- all covered 100%.I have healthy teeth and have never had a cavity or a filling. I did have all four wisdom teeth erupt at once and needed an oral surgeon. Insurance paid 80% of the cost.DH has good teeth, but he did have two pinpoint cavities filled. Cost was around 40 bucks.None of our three kids has ever had a filling or a cavity.( Mom is pushing 80, still has all her teeth in good shape for her age and the wear on them!)I am thankful to have the coverage, but hope I never have to use it.

Ours is $60 for cleaning every 6 months (covered fully by insurance. Fillings are $90 and he uses alaser so it's quick and easy (ins covers 80%)
Once this new insurance goes into effect we will again see about getting that sealant on ds's teeth.

Thankfully, I haven't had a filling in so long I can't remember the cost. But my recent cleaning and xrays were $146. No insurance, dh self employed.

My folks both go to a local dental college to have their work done. It costs virtually nothing and they have a lot of stuff done, they are both in their 70s and have their original teeth, so ya, lots of work. They have lots of good things to say about it, only drawback is it takes more time because all the work has to be checked over by a higher-up.
