    Default Chest pain made me

well... go to ER... it's fine though. Nothing cardiac.

however, it sure got me thinking. I'm almost 40, I've been smoking for 25 years, and am now carrying around 100lbs extra. I'm not sure how it happened. I used to be very athletic.

It will be easier in the spring/summer when I can garden a bit.

It's a good wake up call. I know I always say "why can't I learn from OTHER people's mistakes?" LOL.... nope.... even though my dad's got 3 stents in his heart.. it took a scare to motivate me. So far so good. Thanks

You're on the right track now so give yourself some credit there. Keep on with better eating and exercise and don't forget to drink, drink, drink that water. Helps ya not want to eat so much too.

I'm glad to see you back! They say everything happens for a reason..it is your wakeup call.. I'm glad your alright though and I'm sure it scared the h*ll out of ya... I smoked for 27yrs(started at 13) and quit on my 40th B'day(04/07) only because I litterally couldn't breath(was smoking 3 packs a day)alot of times I had chest pain at least a couple of times a week but never so bad that I needed to seek help...but deep down inside I knew it was gonna kill me if I didn't quit.. I was 142lbs when I quit and now I'm 182lbs..(I love to eat now..LOL)I find that I feel like crap everyday from all this extra weight I've gained..but at least I can breath. So now I'm looking to lose that 40lbs starting now till I lose all of it. I wish you the best on getting yourself healthy..I know it's not easy believe me..But you can do it..((HUGS))
