Belly Dancing class was a blast
I was worried about being the only one there with a less than perfect body (why do we worry about such stupid things?!) but when I got there I was among about 12 women (including the instructors) and all but 2 of us were 'average' women. It was soooooo much fun and I think I can safely say that I'll be a belly dancing babe for the rest of my life. I really encourage anyone who is considering it....and as for a workout, my legs were trembly as I walked down the flight of stairs out of the gym.
I hope next week to invite the other ladies to go have a coffee with my friend and myself and possibly make it a weekly thing.

What a great way to work out! The belly dancing classes we have locally tend to get cancelled very often so I never get to go to any classes.

I am glad you had so much fun!! I have thought about taking belly dancing classes. My mother while in her 50's took classes and really enjoyed it. I may have to give it a try.

I swear you are "looking" younger everyday. I remember the convo's not all that long ago of you just looking at that track. Now look at you go!

That sounds like so much fun! I might have to sign up for a class now. I'm more of a kickboxer kind of girl...but I do think belly dancing would be fun. And I'm sure DH would be all for it!

good for you!!! I think I'd really have to work up a pretty strong nerve to get me into the workout room but reading that there were other women there that didn't look like they do on the belly dancing videos makes me feel better. keep dancing!

Good for you!!!
For some reason every time I hear about belly dancing I think of a scene from Barefoot in the Park where they are at a Greek or Lithuanian or something restaurant and there is a belly dancer. It's a funny scene. She has really long hair and she throws it over her and Paul's heads (Paul is rather a stuffy guy) and they disappear from view.
Are you going to do that?
