Anyone have rheumatoid arthritis?

Could you describe your symptoms for me please...?

I'm having some swelling and pain and stiffness in certain joints....my right pinkie finger middle joint, my left thumb 1st joint, my right foot ball joint and then there's the hip (lingering pain from a few years ago partially dislocating my hip) and my back (ruptured discs and subsequent surgery in '93 and scoliosis). I'm just thinking that I'm having a flare up of something. Sound familiar to anyone?

I have chronic pain in my wrists and ankles. So far I tested negative for arthritis, but my doctor wants to send me to a specialist if it gets worse. For now I take an antiflamatory that works well.

Prairie Rose, sounds like arthritis. I use Aleve for pain relief with my arthritis.

Sounds like artritis to me too. I have it in my hips, knees,hands aand left shoulder. Ant place that you have hurt you are more that likely to get it. When it is cold I can't move my lt arm and shoulder. I was in a car accident in 94 and the Drs are waiting for the systems to go away. So now its frozen. My fingers curl into each other are are really painful. I'm taking a really strong artritis med for it.

My mother has it, she has had multiple back surgeries, she has been really sore lately with the cold weather. They pretty much told her there isn't anything they can do, she just takes muscle relaxers for now

my father has RA. He currently is doing remicade for it, and it works wonders. Rheumatoid moves all over. It can hurt in the hands for a while, the knees, the ankles. It roams. It also deterierates the joints, expecially in the hands, and you will see that the fingers of a RA patient drift off towards the outside of the hands.

there are two tests for RA, so make sure your dr does both the blood tests. It doesnt sound like RA, but you will want to be sure.

by the way, RA isnt just a arthritis type disease, but an auto-immune disorder which is why you should have both blood tests done. Its along the same lines as krohns, JD, lupus...
