Question Please tell me if I am over-reacting...

I've been wrestling with myself for about 3 hours now.

DD came home from her dads around 7. He said she didn't eat very much, said she wasn't hungry. She told me she was still hungry.

About 7:30, the Old Man gave her some quiche and DD and I snuggled on my bed and she told me about her weekend. About 15 minutes later she told me her stomach hurt, I told her to go to the bathroom, she came back out within seconds.

Around 8, she told me her 'bummy hurts'. I know she said she slipped on some mud at her dad's so I thought it was just some brusing, so I took her to the bathroom to take a peek at her cheek. "No Momma, not on my spuckie, on the inside" (Spuckie is a family thing.. I'm gonna bite your spuckie)

She has a hemorroid. I couldn't believe it either. That's when I noticed she had some small wheel-like hives on her arm.

I don't know if it is the over-protective Momma in me, or the fading knowledge from when I was in nursing... but I want to take her to the ER. Abdominal/umbilicus pain, hemorroid and hives... Her dad thinks I am just a nervous nessie because she had an extended stay in the hospital last year and now he thinks I freak out at every sniffle.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

That seems like a weird combo of symptoms to me. I would have her checked out.

Good luck with this. I worry myself sick about my children too.

Better to overreact than to under react.

    Keep us posted!

The hives sound like ringworm, or that's the first thing I thought anyway. Could the hemmeroid have been caused by a particularly difficult BM? I would get her talking a bit and if you think something is just not right after that, yes, I would take her to a doc!

    Good luck

I'd probably just take her to your own dr. not the ER. It's probably not anything major but better to be safe than sorry.

I would take her to her regualr Dr and not the ER.
Her dr has her medical history and is much easier to talk and explain to a regualr Dr then an emergency room doctor who will do a fine job I am sure but not have the emotional investment like a primary care dr has.

That is just me I always prefer the regualr dr then an er doctor.

Has she had any symptoms like weight loss, bloody stool, or mucousy stool? Because the hemorrhoid-type thing you described sounds like a complication of Crohn's Disease (an absess).

I know that's kind of a "zebra", but since my DD was diagnosed with Crohn's at age 2, completely out of the blue, strange digestive symptoms (anywhere from mouth to anus) always send up red flags for me.

Definitely get her checked out by her doctor, though!
    Gratitude.

I'd get her checked by her regualr doctor too. Nevr hurts to do the right thing. Let us know what happens and what they said.

    Arrow Update

Her doc wasn't in the office today, the NP called me back and told me to bring DD in to sick call Tuesday morning.

She still hasn't gone to the 'bathroom' and she can't remember the last time she did. She's 7, I don't expect her to remember, but I usually keep track, I know she went on Thursday night, but she was with her Dad Fri-Sun and says she didn't go there. Her hives have disappeared.

We are leaving here at 7:30am Tuesday, I will let you all know what is going on when I get back.

Thanks for letting me know I am not, as my ex puts it, a Nervous Nessie.

Default Update - After Doctor Visit

DD had her appointment yesterday... she is on Colace for now, and she has an appointment with the GI specialists at Children's Hospital on 8 February.

I am a bit nervous, I was hoping the doctors would smack me on the head and tell me everything is 'normal'.

They also want her to meet with GYN and Endocrinologists at the Children's too....

That's all I know right now...
