going to the doc this afternoon
I complained awhile ago about a itchy rash on my sides, legs and belly/chest. It' drove me mad. I STILL have it, since november! And what's worse is that it ebbs and flows in severity. It gets blisters first, then they (ick ick ick) ooze, crust over and new ones come. What sucks is it goes across my face. Thnakfully on my face it doesn't itch or hurt. It just looks like a sunburn. I am exhausted. Dunno if that's from staying up scratching my legs apart or if it is just from the kids..or what but i gotta go do something about it.
so i will be at the doc this afternoon..
in the mean time, i'd love suggestons. how do you treat itchy rasheshives?~~ Missy ~~

I hope you feel better soon.
When I was a kid I swelled up in welts all over!! Doctor had to give me a shot and told me not to drink so much egg nog. It was around the holidays and that was the only thing that I had that wasn't regular.
You might want to try a bath in oatmeal or aveno.

Oh my gosh! That sounds terrible! I have real sensitive skin and sometimes in the winter I take a bath with ground up oatmeal in the water. I use a coffee grinder to get it fine - or you could put the oats in a stocking and just float it in the bath. I don't know what's in the oatmeal, but it sure works for my skin.
Good Luck!Stacey

Did you change laundry detergent or fabric softener?
It sounds like what I had when dh started using downy. I could have used a wire brush to scratch with it was so bad.
The other incident I had with rash like that was when I was under tremendous stress. And it was horrible. (my dd5 at the time was almost abducted)

Try some baking soda, hopefully you'll get rid of it soon!

Ugh! My doctor's office IS helpful. They've let me be on a payment plan for the past year and just add on to the back end when I have to see them.
Get well soon...

That's terrible. It's not like you're a new patient they've never seen before. I know doctors offices are businesses and have to have rules, but this sort of thing makes me really angry.

I'd be heading tot he E.R. The drs here are really good. whether or not you have insurance they will bill you. They say if you need to be seen you need to be seen. Just a thought.... have you been tested for MRSA? Sounds just like what my sd has. Just remember Don't Scratch

I'd go to the ER--that's horrible.

Go to the Er!!. It does kind of sound like shingles, but with you scratching you need to be careful you don't get an infection in it. Be careful!! Tell your doctor I thought he was a doctor to help people in need, not just for the$$. You defintely need to be seen!!
