Sinus Infection....
We have been sick in our house for two weeks....TWO WEEKS!! Eveyone got it in some manner or form, but I was the big winner of sickness. I posted over a week ago about being sick. I had an ear infection and a nasty, nasty cold. Well, here it is 10 days later, I have gone through 10 day of amox. for the ear infection, and now I have the worst sinus infection I have every had! I have so much sinus pressure over my eyes, it's killing me. When I lay down, I cannot breath, and I cannot bend down at all b/c the sinus pressure hurts SO much. Anyway, I went back to the DR today and got a prescrip. for Zithromax....I sure hope it clears up the sinus infection.
Thanks for listening, DH is getting a litter tired of me being sick (excuse me?!?!?!?) he has no sympathy for me anylonger, and is wondering why I just can;t "get over it"?

I get sinus infections every time i get sick. They're bad too. If it helps you (it doesn't help everybody, but does help me) get some eucalyptus EO (or mentholyptus) and drop a drop or two on a sponge and put it on the floor in your shower, get it steaming hot in the shower and sit outside the shower door/curtain breathing in the steam. If you can stand it and have room to sit without being in the blasting hot water, sit in the shower stall itself. relieves some of the pressure for me. So does saline nose drops. There's a brand of nasal spray...begins with a z or x that helped too. can't remember what brand i was given a sample of.
Course, these things might have only worked because i was taking the antibiotic i was given. So it may have had nothing to do with the at home remedies. But it made me feel better just the same. Another good, made me feel better thing was having DH rub my feel with the EO as well. relaxing.
Good luck and wishes for a quick recovery. It's never fun being sick.~~ Missy ~~

I'm feeling your pain...literally.
The whole family has been sick in the past 30 days with dd even ending up in the hospital.
I'm on antibotics for the second time this past month and I'm on day 5 and I'm having no improvement. It's a "raging" sinus infection according to my dr. If it doesn't improve by the time I'm done with the meds I'll have to get seen again.

Oh, I feel your pain. Last week I had to go back to the doctor for a lingering sinus and ear infection....so you are not alone. Sometimes your body takes a while. I am sorry you are not feeling well, then add on taking care of the family, well, you must be exhausted. I hope the medicines work well and you feel better soon.

Have you tried Neilmed Sinus rinse? They sell it at WM it was on Oprah spokesman Dr Oz. Well dbf bought it for me a while back I have AWFUL sinus problems and though it's not a cure it rinses your nasal passages with a very mild saline and OMG you feel so much better it takes so the pressure you feel away. Well I hope all gets better soon.

If this is the same as the Neti pot, I agree! I am constantly congested or infected. I started using the Neti pot(looks like a teapot you use to rinse your sinuses with a mild saline) a week ago, and it helps soo000 much. I noticed a difference the first day. I didn't bolw my nose none stop, the constant sinus headache I'd had for 4 days subsided. I forgot yesterday and the congestion started building up and the head is back, so I didn't forget it today!!

It is the same just a different shape instead of the "teapot" its a bottle you fill and squeeze it up your nasals. It is good huh ?

My illness started out as a cold then turned to bronchitis. I was diagnosed and given a Z-pack and steroid shot. My sinuses got better my cough didn't. Then 10 days later, I had a headache, fever, sinus pressure, fever, body aches and crashing fatigue. The kind of fatigue that I felt like I needed to lay down NOW! I returned to the doctor cause they said maybe the antibiotic wasn't working. Well, the antibiotic worked on my bronchitis (I was no longer coughing up green and yellow stuff) however, they tested me for the flu and I have both strains. My sinuses are worse than ever. Beware, the flu is out there and it is everywhere here.
