Checking in on all of the 'sickies'
How's everyone feeling that's been fighting the cold and/or flu bugs? Here's hoping that everyone is better. I've still got lots of congestion (sinus and throat/upper chest now) but am, er, 'moving' it (read coughing it up...tmi
sorry) so I'm taking that as a positive sign. I'm also still very short winded and tire easily but at least have the 'desire' to do some things around the house. (after about 5 days of doing nothing somebody's got to!) I've managed to run around and pick and put up (well not run....) and swipe with my duster and I'm going to sweep in spells. I hope to do something to call it a workout as I'm feeling really bad about not doing anything for so long. Maybe pilates.
Do tell.....how's everyone else doing?

Here is the update on me:
first it was an ear infection and serious head/chest cold with shivers but no fever.
then it became a dreadful sinus infections
now, are you ready for this? I think I have cracked a rib from all of my very deep coughing. It has been actually bothering me for a week. Some days it seiously hurts to move or heaven-forbid, cough. Some days it has just ached. Today it's somewhere between. I am going to the doctor this AM to have it looked at. I know that nothing can be really done for a cracked rib, I would just like to know how long to wait till it heals, to see what I should and shouldn't do, and to make sure that it reaaly it a cracked rib, and not something else.............*sigh*

EEeouuuuch Traci, I've had a cracked rib so I can empathize with you. I hope that you find out it's just a pulled rib, instead of cracked. That should heal faster.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

You can add our house to the list of "sickies." DS#3 tried to go to school this morning, but we ended up cominghome. He has a severe headache and a stomach ache.~*Michelle*~

Well, I don't really have an answer for my rib, I didn't want to pay for an xray just to find out that the answer was "it will just take time to heal".
It's either a cracked rib, or a separated or a pulled rib. It will take 2 to 6 weeks to heal, depending on which it is.

Glad you are feeling soooo much better PrairieRose. My dd is STILL at home (since they called me to pick her up from school LAST Monday) as we just can't seem to get the fever kicked. Dr. told us it would be 7-10 days since she had BOTH strains of the flu and today will be 8. UGH! I am praying she wakes up this morning with no temp. and doesn't have any throughout the day so she can get back to school. The amount of homework she needs to do is ridiculous because most of the time she has either been sleeping or just not really feeling well enough to try to concentrate on it. I know what you mean about coughing up all the yuk
. She is constantly spitting it out. My dh has been over it for several days now and I am still on the Tamiflu preventative and have had no signs of flu (and-knock on wood-don't want it).

It has hit our house also. Dh was not feeling well yesterday and dd got sick on the way to school. Dh is better today but DD is still very sick. I am waiting on the doctor to call back right now.
