    Default update on dil

    Ok heres the latest.

She cannot file for unemployment until she can go back to work full time & has DR. release. Thats 6-8 weeks.

She Has to go on cobra to cover her surgery. Its almost $400.00 a month. She was paying $88 a month.

Here you can let an employee go for no reason. Colorado is employer not employee friendly. Everything they are doing is legal.

She cannot put the surgery off, its pushing on her bladder and cutting off fluids. Ok she can't urinate.

We told her to just do what she has to do. Hopefully she heals quickly, and can get things back to normal in couple months.

The good side is she can get unemploment after all this, so thats a big plus on the other side. AS long as she doesn't get fired before Mar 1, she is afraid she's going to get it today.

She is on several prayer lists. Thanks for the offers to put her on yours. Jo - Colorado.

Thanks for the update, I have really had her on my mind. She needs to go ahead and get her surgery done. She needs it. Hopefully when the Dr. releases her she will be able to get her unemployment. I know it is tough right now, but I believe things will work out for the best. (((HUGS)))

Thank's for the update. I will keep her in my thoughts.

In case the worst happens in regards to her insurance, can or would she apply for the hospital's free care if they have it?

The major hospital's where I live have not only free care for those income eligible but sliding scale fees for those who are bit higher in the income scale, I think up to $40,000.00 or so. It wouldn't cover the surgeon's fees but if she didn't have to worry about the hospital bill it would probably be a huge relief.

    I might add here,

She has asked all Drs. & hosiptal, everyone to put her on a payment plan. So far they have all agreed because she doesn't have a job!

She works in collections, so she knows how much she can legally pay etc. So this is another big plus on her side. I'm really trying to beleive this is a blessing in disguise.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering how things were going for her too. I would check into the sliding scale fees too. A freind of mine's son & girlfriend got pregnant and both were working fast food jobs, they paid virtually nothing for the birth due to the sliding scale clinic they went to. I will say they were basically told what they were going to do, when and how by the Doctors and hospital, but it all worked out okay.
