I guess I can't Ignore it Anymore
Let me start by saying that I'm not necessarily overweight. However, over the winter, I've gained about 7 pounds. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but I'm small framed and where I used to be firm, I'm now soft, and I've got a roll over the top of my pants, and my butt could be compared to a flesh colored Jell-O Jiggler.
So, the time has come to get serious about taking care of this. I could say that it's too hard to exercise because I've got 3 kids and I work full-time, but the fact is, if I don't make the time, nothing is going to change, and I'll start "filling out" even more. I'm 36 and this is the age when my Mom left size 0 range and fell down the slippery slope into her current much, MUCH larger size. So, genetics are not necessarily on my side.
I don't really eat poorly, so it really does need to be about exercise and drinking my water. What better week to get started than Spring Break when I do actually have some time. Then I can look at my schedule and figure out where to add in the rest of the workouts. When it gets warmer, I plan on getting up at 5 again and doing my neighborhood walks. But, not until it gets warmer.
So, wish me luck!

I'm in the same boat, I gained a little over the winter and now I'm working on losing about 6 pounds before we go to Florida the end of May.
The only time I can exercise is early in the morning before anyone is awake. I get up at 5 too and get on the treadmill for a half hour with a book, the time goes by faster and if I only let myself read that book on the treadmill then I'm way more likely to exercise. If I let it go til after work then I never do it.
Another thing I did this year - twice - was buy something in the next smaller size because my size wasn't available and both items were on clearance and I really wanted them! One was a swimsuit and the other was a pair of cargo pants. I try them on periodically because it motivates me a little more when the clothes are a little less tight each time I test them out.
Good luck Amy!

Ok, I am back and I am ready to help here, but first I need you ladies and gents who want these tips to come back here and post what you eat and drink on a daily basis. I need you to be very specific on the frequency of your meals, snacks, liquids and also your daily physical activity. I also need to know, and I hope that this is not too personal for you.......if you are taking any perscribed drugs or over the counter drugs. And one more thing.....are you consuming water that has fluoride and chlorine in it. I will check back on this thread tomorrow morning and see what has been posted. I have some great advice to give and I think that you will be pleased with it.
Ok, just one more thing.......how many hours of sleep are you getting per night?
HUGS, Lynn

yep, I am going to really start exercising once classes end in about 5 weeks. For now I will just try to watch what I eat a little better. I have lost 26 of the 34 pounds I gained with the last baby. Problem is I hadn't lost all the weight from the first, plus when I got pregant I was about 20 pounds overweight already. So I have about 40 pounds to lose to get down where I know I should be. Seems like so much right now!! My plan is to take the kids for a walk in the stroller everyday that is nice. When it isn't I will either do HipHop Abs or TurboJam. We also have a treadmill in the basement, along with a bowflex that I could also use.

Oh it's a sad realization, isn't it Amy? You know you can do this and make lasting changes that will prevent you from going 'there' again. Getting started is half the battle.
