Default Natural relief for ds's allergies?

My ds is 6 and has really bad allergies to pollens and all things airborne. I got an air humidifier and I'm not sure if it's working. I tried saline spray for his nose but it seems to make things worse. I am medicating him but he's so sensitive to all medications. They all seem to make him hyper and tired at the same time. Any small percentage of side effects he seems to get them. I don't know what to do anymore. I've been dealing with this for over a year now. He had tubes in his ears. They want to take out his adenoids and tounsils but I would like to avoid that if I can. Are there any alternative treatments I'm missing? I am using up all in my pantry and switching to a Mediterranian diet since I read that can really help. I'm trying to give him yogurt with probiotics since he's been prescribed antibiotic alot. I'm calling the real estate agent tomorrow to see if there is any deal I can make to pull the carpet out of this place. I just don't know what to do anymore. I want my child well. I can't afford a all out organic diet but I'm trying to cut out the processed stuff.

I'm sorry I realized I typed air humidifier. We bought him an air purifier. I plan to get more but I have to do it a little at a time since we are tight on our budget.

Hmm heard about this solution but I don't have allergies so I don't know if this works but supposedly if you take a tablespoon or raw unprocessed honey per day this will help build up an immuity to pollen related allergies.

Also are you sure that food allergies aren't causing some of the problems. I've heard that wheat allergies can cause runny nose and sinus type symptoms similiar to allergies.

Make sure that there is no black mold lurking around in your home. That alone can cause allergy like symptoms. You can try giving him MSM powder and some ascobic Acid powder mixed up in not from concentrate orange juice. MSM is great for tackling allergies and the ascorbic acid helps it to absorb better. Also, a complete chewable enzyme, such as papaya Plus from American Health. This can be taken as soon as he is done eating a meal or snack. The enzymes will help to break down all of his fats, proteins and carbs and he will be absorbing his nutrients better. I buy mine from www.vitacost.com at wholesale cost. If he is able to swallow capsules, you can go that route instead of the powder form. Hope this helps along with what other's suggest here. Hope he get's to feeling better soon.

Hi, So sorry your son is suffering. My ds also has allergies and had seasonal asthma until he was 6 so I know what you're going through.

We purchased air purifiers for each bedroom and a large one for the living room and they do work! I also suffer from allergies and noticed a difference but it does not happen overnight. Also, if you can remove the rugs, do so. Carpeting holds dust, dust mites, etc. At least try and remove the carpeting in his bedroom. Try and find the allergen pillow covers (target usually has them for about $7), that may help as well. Lastly, purchase local honey - not sue bee or others made elsewhere - it has to be local for this to work and take 1 Tablespoon each morning. It takes a month or so of doing it, but it does improve the pollen allergies. My brother suffers horribly from pollen allergies and he started doing this 2 years ago and didn't have a problem at all last summer or the summer before. DS and I tried it last year and we did notice a difference, but again, it takes time for your body to build up an immunity.

Lastly, if you have access to an allergy specialist (usually an allergy/asthma specialist), take your son to see him/her. They will also have ideas to help. The first thing mine did was mention getting an air purifier, removing all carpeting and encasing pillows and mattresses.

Good luck and I hope this ideas help!

Hello new here. My son is allergic to almost everything you could think of (Buckwheat, Butter, Casein, Cheese, Citric Acid, Coca-Cola, Cocoa, Corn,
Egg, Fish, Malt, Milk, Na Sterdyl Lactylate, Nuts, Orange, Peanut, Popcorn, Pork, Potato White, Rice Flour, Sesame Seed, Shellfish, Soybean, Sunflower Seeds, Tomatoes, Tree Nuts, Wheat, Wheat Bran, Wheat Germ, Wheat Gluten & White Potato).

I would try to avoid milk and wheat for one week and see if his allergies are better. My daughter had ear tubes in twice. My son suffers all the time when the outside allergies start.

I cannot use any medications on my son except for benadryl. But that makes him sleepy. He is older than your son he is 8 years old and has suffered since birth with all his allergies.

We use eat right for your type diet for my son. It is a blood type diet. He is doing better on this diet so far. Best wishes for your son. I know how you feel.

    Alice
