Trail walkers or hikers here?
I am an avid trail walker/hiker. I was just wondering if there was any other people here that like to do that, whether just at your local municipal park or on long haul trails like the AT.

My DH and I are hikers. We are hiking the NJ AT this summer. Sat we have a 12 mile hike here in NJ. We are light hikers and being frugal helps alot. Two or more uses for one item is the only way to go!! We have hiked in Vermont and Mass and also the Adirondacks. We wanted to get to Glacier National Park this year but with the nine day AT hike, I didn't want to leave my son with my mom too long. We have decided to go do some hiking in Balize and Cozamel Mex. instead. Let me know where you have hiked and what you liked to best.

No mountains here -- be we do have lots of trails. We have a very popular one just across the street from us. But it is a very nice paved walking and biking trail and the people on bikes aren't very careful about the walkers.
There are a couple of fairly rugged hiking trails we like to go on when we can. We used to be backpackers -- but we don't do the long distance stuff anymore since we moved back to the midwest.

we're planning on doing the west coast trail in the next couple of years.
Calgary (where I live) has one of the largest pathway systems in the country. they're nice and go all over...weekdays I train on those (I participate in he weekend to end breast cancer which is 60k)

Trail walker/hiker here!!!

I'm so glad the weather has finally warmed up. I have asthma and have a difficult time exercising outdoors in the winter, as it is cold weather induced asthma, but when the warm weather comes, WATCH OUT TRAILS!!!
I plan on hitting the NJ AT at some point this spring. I have a good friend who took off 6 months and hiked the entire AT by himself a few years ago. Changed his life.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I love to hike! We were blessed to live in England which has trails EVERYWHERE- plus we were very close to the Lake District. We ended up hiking by ourselves or going through Outdoor Recreation through the base.
We've been blessed again and we're in Germany. We can't wait to start exploring the Black Forest and the beautiful mountains here.Wife to Air Force DH for 7 years.

I live in Oregon and hike quite a bit. I have a couple of week long hikes planned this summer. One will be a big loop around the Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon side and then a big loop through the Bull of the Woods wilderness. I would also like to do the Rouge River trail if there is enough time and money this year.
