    Default pmdd

    i'm curious what pmdd is.
there are lots of articles, but they dont touch on the personal effects of the disorder.
so i was wondering if anyone is aware (or thinks) they have pmdd... can you explain how _you_ feel during that time?

    (research paper time!)

    thanks

I was not actually diagnosed with this disorder, but probably did have it. I did some looking around and my symptoms were all there. I was diagnosed with endo, ademyosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts.

The feelings of depression out of nowhere, the anxiety, and the feeling of being completely out of control were monthly visitors, just as sure as the debilitating pain twice a month.

Not sure if this is any of what you may need, but you can PM me if you'd like.

well what i'm looking for is a first person point of view.
i see the symptoms, dont fully understand things like "feeling outta control" or a depression that just *poof* seems to happen.

my understanding is that like depression is usually onset by a trigger... slowly.
and some of the other women i've talked to say it just *poof* happens.

so what are the symptoms you usually experience.
how do they feel to you.

how, if possible, do you or can you control these things.
what "remedies" do you have for yourself if/when you know they're coming on.

    thanks

Most times there really is no trigger. I have had times when I am at work and have to go to the ladies room and cry. No reason at all. I do feel a little disossiated (sp) like foggy or just no feeling, flatness. This was a pretty good indicator for me.

I take anti-depressants and they help alot! I have also had 4 surgeries and now shouldn't have these experiences. Now I am onto the more fun aspect of surgical menopause! LOL

I'm sorry I can't be more specific for you. It's more a sensation that is very difficult to explain unless you experience it. I know, I tried explaining it to doctors for years!
