Treadmill Question...
We are considering buying a treadmill, but my DH is unsure whether this is a good idea or not. So my question is....Do you own a treadmill and if so do you use? If not, why? Also, for those who own one, any advice on what kind to buy? Thanks

We bought one new about 5 yrs ago, as we made a new years resolution to start exercising and loose weight.
I used it for about a week, and there it sat. DH used it for about 6 months and then stopped, we sold it 3 yrs ago for 1/2of what we paid for it.
We just were not dedicated enough to exercise 3-4 times a week"We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

I bought a pacemaker with an extended length treadmill and higher weight capacity due to hubby. Because of that we had to spend extra for it. We do use it and only because we spent so much, that we wanted to get our monies worth out of it. I enjoy the programs available on it. However if you had to pull out the knob for the emergency stop, when you restart it it doesn't start where you left off. And i done this many of times because I had the emergency knob thingy clipped to my shirt and my hand will accidently hit the cord it is attached too.
Ours easily folds up and this one was rank high for treadmills that fold up. Also it flexes just enough each step you take. I would buy it again.
Ooh, one of the programs is a fit test, and you get scored on it. Love showing hubby up.

We have a treadmill and we love it. I use it 4-5 times a week and my dd also uses it to run on several times a week. Our last one lasted a good 14 years and actually wore out from use. Our new one is a Pacemaker. LOVE IT.

Got mine for free on Freecycle
I love it. I also have a gym membership. So, if I don't feel like going to the gym, I use the treadmill, if I don't feel like using the treadmill, I walk outsde and so on and so forth. I really love it. Try to get one free on freecycle.org

We have one that we've had for 2.5 years. I've never used it much (I use the gazelle b/c of arthritis issues) but Gripey uses it almost daily. It's helped him to lose/maintain a 75 pound weightloss
. We bought the midline one at Academy for about $375 or so......

I don't own one, but it's been my experience with others that if they buy a treadmill because they can't get themselves to the gym to use one, they won't use it at home either. Motivation is required no matter where you think you'll exercise. I'm a runner when the weather is kind, so I would love to have one for icy days when it's not safe to run outside.

I bought my treadmill at Wal-Mart 7 years ago and I love it. I use it daily except for maybe 3-5 days a year. I walk to keep my metabolism up. I have a book/magazine rack on mine and I love it. I walk about 4.5 miles per hour and I read while I walk. That makes the time go faster and keeps me walking, otherwise I would be bored.
My treadmill is made by Weslo.
