    Default Tara's Journal!!!

Okay, techinally my journey began about 3 1/2 months ago. I started in June with watching what I was eating, (it started out as a low carb thing, and turned into just eating smaller amounts of things), anyway I lost about 10 in the first month or so, and now am up to 19 pounds lost!! My problem is that I have been at a stand still for about 2-3 weeks, just going up and down about 3 pounds!!

    So, now it's go time!!!

I want to get down to 180 pounds by Christmas!! So I am going to start really trying to get some exercise in my life!!!

    Here are my stats:
    Starting weight: 229 pounds

Current weight: 210 pounds (pre dd weight)

Mini Goal: 201 pounds (pre ds weight)

    Height: 5' 10"

Excerise so far: 15 minutes ( I know it's small but it will be more!!!)

I am really doing this for me and my kids, so this thread is more of an accountability thing for me, but any advice or helpful comments are more than welcome!!!

I am still continuing to do good, I went to the park with my son today and spent an hour there!! With all the running, climbing, and pushing I did, I am adding 15 minutes to my excerise time!! I am only adding 15 because it wasn't a full continuous workout, but it still involved a lot of moving!!

So, my total today is 30 minutes!!!

I am still telling myself that this is the beginning of a new life for me!! I am going to continue to working at this and hopefully I will continue to see some progress soon!!

I am losing weight and I am working out!!! (a little self-motivation always works, right??)

Okay, there is a good chance that I am really hoping that this weight comes off over night (I know it's not that easy), I just finished a second workout of Taebo!! I actually did the full 30 minutes this time, well with a few water breaks and some other 15 second breaks to catch my breath. I actually did it, I feel really good right now!! I also feel really sweaty and very tired, but that is the reason I am doing this right???

I couldn't sleep, and everyone else in my house is asleep, so I thought why not, I'll try the Taebo one more time and see if I can do it!! I did!! I'll admit, that I am not that great at it, but it was good for me to push myself and make myself go that little bit further!!

Tomorrow I am going to take a break from Taebo, and try the Denise Austin DVD I have, I think I am just going to switch between the two and see what happens!!! But that is another 30 minutes for me today!! I am sore, but I feel good!!

Denise Austin's kickboxing video is a lot of fun, if you have that one. I took some self-defense courses, and a lot of what she incorporates are versions of the same, so you can add a little more punch to it by picturing yourself kickboxing your favourite bad guy.

Thanks, I'll have to see if I can find that one!! The one that I have is the Denise Austin Pilates for every body!! I'll keep that one in mind, and try to pick it up next time I am out!! Thanks for the suggestion!!

I am off to do some pilates!! Hopefully this will help loosen me up a little bit, I am very sore from doing all that Taebo yesterday!! But what's that old saying?

My old PT instructor used to say, "Pain is the weakness leaving your body." I still love that phrase. Hated my PT instructor. Love that phrase.

Okay 45 minutes of Denise, kicked my butt!!! As I am doing this DVD, I am following along and I begin to notice that I am sweating, like dripping down my face and she is perfectly dry!!! Something must be working right??

Well, I did it, day 2 done with!! I really tried all day today to talk myself out of working out tonight but, I did it, and I feel really tired and sore. I also know this is going to be worth it!! I am going to continue to push myself everyday to keep this up and continue to work hard on getting the old me back!!!

So, after a shower I am going to go to bed and get a good nights sleep, I know that I am going to be sore in the morning, but I'll get through it and sooner or later, it won't hurt as bad!!

    Exercise minutes today: 45

    Exercise minutes total: 125

Good for you!! Denise Austin typically makes me crazy, because she doesn't do what she says she is going to do, or she does uneven amounts per side, or she says, "Okay, two more!" and that can mean anything from one more to six more. She is a flake, in other words. But you can't deny that she is still in pretty good shape! I try to do the best I can to follow along.

I don't know if you have it there, but she has a t.v. exercise show here every day, M-F. Only problem is that it comes on at around 4:00 am every day!! So I taped a week's worth of shows, and I just use those to work out with.

As Denise would say: BURN THAT BUTTER!!

(Or as she recently said on one of her shows, "Let's turn that gluteus maximus into a gluteus minimus!"

She also drives me crazy with her perky attitude and well formed body!! She doesn't sweat and she is always wanting to see my smile, my big smile!! When I am working out I do not smile, it's not because I don't want to, it's just hard to do through the pain!!!

I am really sore today, and I am going to find my heating pad and see if I can loosen up my back a little!!

I'll have to check our menu, for her workouts, we have DISH Network, so we get both east and west channels, and plus our package came with DVR, so I'll just record them. Thanks for the tip!!

I have Dish as well. She is on the Lifetime Channel, at 4:00 am!! Do a search for Denise Austin, because the program titles are "Denise Austin's Daily Workout" and "Denise Austin's Fit & Lite."

I am dating myself here, but I used to watch "Lillian, Yoga, and You." I can't find that one anymore, so I am thinking maybe Lillian went to the great yoga mat in the sky?

I think you're doing great!Don't let the weightloss 'break' get you down...I've been caught in one for a year now....

Hang in there, wtg on the working out. I sweat like a pig when I do my aerobics videos too, if that's any consolation.

Well, today went pretty well. I did a lot of house cleaning, but not any workouts!! I am letting myself have a day off, and let my body relax!! My middle back muscles are very sore and very tight! I am going to work out again tomorrow, and I hopefully quite a bit this weekend too!! We'll have to see though, my dd is turning 1 on Sunday and we are having a party on Saturday for her!! (She's the one in my avatar picture!!)

I am not quitting just letting my body relax, I don't want to push it too hard and end up puling a muscle or tendon or something that could lay me up for a couple weeks!!!

I am feeling much better though, I am not near as tired as before and I have found that I have a little more energy. Something is working!!

Everybody has to take a break now and then. You need to give your muscles a rest!

I have to admit, though....I don't consider doing a bunch of housecleaning a 'break'. Ugh! That's tough stuff sometimes! Especially with little kids!

    Keep up the good work!

Okay, so I haven't exercised in a few days, I know, I know, but we have been very busy here!!! My dd turned 1 on Sunday and we had her party on Saturday. With family here, it was past 1:00 am before we went to bed, plus I had to work this whole weekend. I am not making excuses, by break was only suppose to be a day or two, but I am going to get going again, hopefully tonight yet!!!

I am wanting to get this program started and really get this weight loss thing going!! So, I am here, I am back on track and ready to lose this weight!!!
