    Lightbulb Gibbler Kelly's Weightloss challenge

Not sure if this has been done before or not, but I need this to keep me accountable, and to help me stay on track and to get some support. Feel free to join in if u want to.

    Info:

So I was watching 'The biggest looser' last night, and everytime I watch it I get kinda motivated. I have struggled with my weight for the last 4 years. After I had my son 5 years ago I went on the depo provera shot so I would not get pregnant again, and I GAINED A LOT of weight. After I had my other son (15 months old now) I lost weight the entire pregnancy and I went down to 154 lbs. But then I got a little depressed and down for a few months and I shot back up to 186 lbs. I have since lost 8 lbs and have went back down to 178.4. I am only 5 foot tall.

I want right now to get to my weight I was before getting pregnant with my first child which was 145 lbs. That would be wonderful for me, after I reach that goal I would ultimately like to be around 130 lbs. But my first goal is to get to the 145.

I do not own any exercise equipment at all, I would love to have something, but for us it is just not in the budget right now unless someone gives me something or I can get it really cheap at a yard sale I will not be having anything to exercise on.

So I need to do this frugally. and I need support. I deffinately need support. My intentions right now are to weigh one time a week. Which will be Monday mornings when I get up for the day which is around 7:50 - 8:00 am.

So now I need suggestions on how to start loosing the weight frugally. I know there are a lot of things I can do like walking and stuff, right now walking is not an option for every day for me because of weather and dh works so I cannot take the baby out in the cold and rain.

Anyway I will update later with some more ideas.

Have you thought about exercising with the baby? A girlfriend of mine suggested these articles:

    http://www.fun-baby-games-online.com...-and-baby.html

My Friend has precious little free time, too - - but really looks forward to the 'workout' she shares with her Little One each day! It's their Special Time, and they are both smiling and laughing at the end of their 'session'.

Best wishes as you start your Journey!

Thumbs up Gibblerkelly support crew reporting in

Well I don't know if I'll lose any weight along with you, I have health issues that make my exercise rather sporadic. BUT I'll be a cheerleader!

When my kids were small I tried to get out for a walk in the evening after they had gone to bed, like you say, this isn't always practical because of the weather.

Do you have stairs? Stair climbing is a really good aerobic exercise & slims the pins quickly. You can also use 1lb cans for light arm exercise. One of the best, & proven, workouts for strength & endurance is the 5bx/xbx canadian air force routine. I don't know if it is still in print, but you might get it at the library. Does your library lend dvd's? some have all manner of exercise routines.

Failing that, kids love it when mum puts on music and starts dancing around! I f you can cope with the chaos

And remember not to get too hung up on the scale -it can fluctuate from week to week, and muscle weighs something too.

I also love watching 'The Biggest Loser", but for me it sets up unrealistic expectations. For myself I mean. I totally admire the dedication of the people on it, but they don't have anything else to think about. Personally, I'd be carted off in an ambulance after the first day

Set realistic goals & allow for life getting in the way

    Go gibblerkelly!

Thanks. I would probably be carted off in the ambulance the first day as well. LOL

So I have not really been doing anything to loose weight because of all the painting and stuff that I have been doing there just is no time to exercise. Also I have not been eating the best for a few days because of grabing something to munch on between painting this or that, so I need to make myself get back on the band wagon.
