I'm joining. I want to lose 30 pounds. I weighed myself this morning, and I'm going to start recording what I eat tomorrow. And get back into the exercise habit.

I am TOTALLY in on this challenge!
I KNOW I need to lose at least 55 pounds to be near my target weight (ideal weight for my height and frame-build) but I really can't do anything until after the baby is born in mid-January. So I won't be able to start for a few weeks. However, as a plus, that process should net a loss of about 10 pounds immediately if everything goes well so I'll be well on my way! I'll add this challenge to my signature now!May Goals:
Only $300 for groceries this month - $206/$300
Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
No wasted food!
Stick to budget!
Track spending DAILY
Get checkbook balanced
Save $200 toward EF: $85/$200
2012 FV Challenges: Try New Recipes Challenge: 22/52, Menu Planning Challenge: 21/52, Grocery Reduction Budget Challenge, Change Jar Challenge: $27.81 as of 1-14-12, Lose A Pound A Week Challenge: 3/48, No Wasted Food Challenge
2012 Goals
2. Snowball the CC payment into Sears Credit Card bill (no interest) and get it paid off ASAP.
1. To pay off CC (only $917.15 left!) and never again charge more than I can pay off each month.
3.Snowball the CC and Sears card payments into hospital bill (due w/ Baby #2 via C-section in mid-January). Pay that off ASAP.4. Snowball payments into DH's student loan (as of 12/4/11 there's still $4770.84 remaining). Pay off by 12/31/12.
5. Keep our grocery budget to $300 each month.
6. Use Dave Ramsey's budget sheet and get on track with this each pay period.
7. Get and keep checkbook balanced and keep an eye (weekly if not daily) on our e-statements.
8. Get savings account up to $8,000 (incl. emergency fund)
9. Make 2 Christmas gifts per month: 0/24.
10. Get our home organized: use a receipt book, keep my coupon organizer in check, have a touch-once policy for paper (touch once and then file or toss).
11. Achieve "give or get" goal of $1500 for the board I serve on by 9/30/12.
12. Taxes filed by March 17.

Count me in. I will start the Monday after the holiday ( January 5, 09) and will weigh in every Monday morning first thing. I am going to pull out my fancy water pitcher and increase my water consumption. Plus I am setting a goal of 30 minutes of exercise 4 times per week.
In 09 I will be traveling most weeks for work so this may prove a bit more difficult. It is harder for me when all meals are eaten out, plus I tend to stress eat at night. But I plan to grab an apple from the fruit baskets at the hotels for night and I can drink herbal tea as a soothing treat. And the hotels do have treadmills so there is no reason I can not use them

I already started! I made sure I took a nice walk both yesterday and today and have been increasing my water intake. I weighed myself on yesterday (Sunday) and will do my first weigh-in on Saturday. It won't be exactly one week, but close enough.

I'm in too! I have about 65 pounds to lose total, so a pound a week will put me close to my goal.
I like this challenge, because I have trouble with unrealistic expectations when I'm dieting. I'll start on January 2, and post my losses on Saturday mornings.
Great challenge!

I'm in.
I will get back to taking a daily walk with the daughter. This time I will use the backpack instead of the stroller.
I *MAY* even cut back some on my beer intake. That's not really likely, but I might.

Weight loss challenge
Hey! I'm in too. My doctor doesn't think I need to lose any. He thinks I look good, but since I started taking medications, I have gained about 20 pounds or more. I won't post my actual weight 'cause sometimes other people are like "please you don't need to lose anything", but when you weigh more than you're used to it makes you feel bad about yourself and the reason I'm taking the meds if for depression anyhow. My problem with working out is I hate to walk and all I have to work out with is my WiiFit and a couple of handweights. I think I'll weigh in on Mondays. I know I've probably gained some over the holidays, but haven't weighed myself.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Sign me up too. Thanks for starting this thread. I'll step on my scale on thursday. I think it's going to say: "One at a time please" Hopefully not tho, that would be uber-embarrassing.
It is what it is.

You can count me in on this challenge as well. I have ahem, 18 to go since I gained a few during the holidays. I have been down to 4 to goal but now I'm at 18..... . So here we go....I've already started the eating plan and will be working out daily for 30-60 minutes, doing a variety of things including weight training. This should make it more *interesting* with lots of us pulling in the same direction.

I completely agree! I'm fairly tall so I can hide any weight gain pretty easily, but there's nothing worse than your clothes being a little too tight. I have a hard time wearing anything that touches my stomach as that is where I notice the additional weight on me. I'm pretty self-conscious about it but most people can't tell that I've put on 20 lbs. Just do it for yourself. Forget what others have to say (unless it's encouragment, of course!).

I would love to lose about 35 pounds. But to start i'll be happy with 10 pounds! I bought a pedometer for walking. I got a wii for christmas and I am searching for a wii fit. My goal is to start getting back on my treadmill and doing cardio. I also need to cut out the FAST FOOD!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
